Is a merger any more likely in light of Telford going bust? Would there be any advantages? Discuss

Paul - a closer relationship and some help being offered to the club by out fans is one thing - taking on a merger is another, I want telford to servive but only if they promise to give us 6 points next year!!!!
One team in Shropshire - I hope not!!

Nope, the people of Telford deserve their own football team.
Whether that is Telford Utd or not hangs in the balance right now.

If the people of Telford really do deserve their own team, is it really one that needs a 6000 seater stadium? I can't help thinking that the attendances show that that is where they went wrong. No matter what Andy Shaw did - and he tried every which way, he coudn't get the folks of Telford thru his turnstiles - I think that needs to be looked at long and hard.

I agree with you OldGit...sorry to say that I could never see Telford getting decent gates or gaining the success the chairman believed was possible...
It's common sense for me, Telford is a new town with many of the towns football supporters having their own clubs such as Albion, Birmingham, Villa, Wolves etc etc etc which they can easily travel to watch week in, week out...I really do not think he could have done anything to attract more crowds through the gate...

No offence but not over mt dead body.
Also....and don't take this the wrong way, I want Telford to get through this as much as anyone else, but if the situations had been reversed would we be getting this kind of outpouring of support from the Bucks? I'm sceptical.
We feel we have to look out for them because they are the smaller, underdog team......like having a wounded younger sibling. However I think if we were to have folded, their sugar daddy mentality and sheer years of being second best would have been too much too handle in my opinion.
Just my thoughts.
