Hi, im an Aldershot Town fan who is very much looking forward to our game at Gay Meadow which should be a classic. The winners of the game will almost cement their place in the playoffs although i think a draw is the likely result (hopefully). I was also wondering without causing offence why a certain number of your fans feel you do not deserve to be in the conference and are far too big a club to be 'slumming it ' in the conference.

Oh no, we deserve to be in the Conference.
Whether we like being a Conference club is a totally different thing.

Yep, just like Hull City in the third (until this year), Sheff Wed in the 2nd, and Wolves (until last year) in the Second, we may well find ourselves a big club in a league that we wouldn't consider to be our normal environment.
But as Ant says, sadly we're having to get used to it.
I'm hoping for a miracle in the play-offs but don't fancy us away at any side we play at present.

Hi Thom. Its called arrogance mate, mixed with a tinge of shame, denial and disbelief. Ant is right, we do deserve to be here, we just dont want to be. Hope its a great game tuesday and have a safe journey up. Remember going to your place in the FA Cup when I was about 10 years old. Happier days. Any idea how many you will bring?

I would hope we will bring about 400 not great i know but not bad for a tuesday night. As for the result we would happily take a draw even though our last visit to Shropshire gave us a 2-5 win at Telford.

Dont think WE do? Think certain people do i.e. Mr Ratcliffe, mr Redmile etc.

Hi Thom
For a team like Aldershot you are on the way up with asperations of the football league,
For Us we have fallen out, after 50 years there, D'Sanes goal at Sutton has put you here and now we are now competing at the same level.
The way football has changed, we know that we have reached a point where we are at an equilibrium. We now share the same pool of players going up and down.
I think you have the advantage - on the up, great support.. us at the bottom, and great suppport..
It's hard to take, but we support Shrewsbury Town and always will. But Shrewsbury have the best home defence in the whole league.

I think you have to say credit to Aldershot guys, what they went through all those years ago is far worse than a straight relegation to the conference such as STFC suffered.
Don't forget what they have done, its a near-miracle!
