Strange story from the Dun Cow today! Two little old grannies walked in for lunch just as me and mine host were about to watch the first race at Cheltenham. One says to Mouse, " ooh! racing, can anyone put a bet on for me?" Mine host obliges as he has a phone account, expecting her to have 50 pence each way on some donkey, but no! She gets 25 quid out of her purse and asks for the lot to be put on the favorite (which came a very very close second out of 22 runners!) Her mate then walks up and asks for a fiver win on a rank outsider in the next race at Huntingdon, which has no chance on form so the bet is stood, which proceeds to finish an even closer second at 50/1(phew!). We engage them in conversation and it transpires that one of them lost six grand betting at Plumpton on monday (and showed us the slips to prove it!!) Being a grand down, she put three grand on a 1 to 3 shot which got beat, then had a grand each way on a 4 to 1 shot which fell while in the lead She had decided to reduce her stakes today, thank god, as Mouse looked worryingly at his safe ;D Luckily for us they left immediately after their dinner! Beware these two Blue Rinsers, they're dangerous!!

Quality story Reg, how are you , still flush going into the third day of Cheltenham.? I was thinking that if you and myself got organised we could look towards organising a B/A racing day at Bangor or somewhere else that is reasonably local.
It might take our mind off the football!!

Yes same Mouse as had the Brick 15 months ago! Is that really a good idea JAM0 Best way to Bangor is train to Wrexham then 5 minute taxi ride. B&A on the beer in Wrexham........ How about Ludlow? I'm nicely in front after 2 days JAMO but had a severe bollocking yesterday as I talked mouse into leaving one horse out of his placepot and it cost him 2,830 quid Gave him the 8/1 winner of the last today though so he's thawed a bit
