He should of done better with that IMHO, everyone in the ground could see that it wasn't a cross and that he was intending to have a wack, but Howie just stood there like a mellon and watched the ball, if he had been on his line, he could of collected or tipped over the ball easily. And apparantly Naylor did the same in Scumfords last match? Were was the scouts? And after a very uncertain game for Scott, were the cocky Telford players were even shooting from the halfway line etc, me thinks Hart should be given a run in the team. But hey thats just my opinion

If the ball had gone in traight off the free-kick the goal would have not counted as it was an in-direct free-kick.
The question that should be asked is - where were the defence after the initial free-kick? Why did Hulbert have so much space?

I was standing quite near to that goal, and the wind was causing some real problems with that cross / shot. Howie isn't a mind reader, he wasn't to know it was going to move that much in the air.

No goalkeeper could have done anything else.
Unless they were 10ft tall.

it looked like (from where i was, i may be wrong) that howie thought it was going over/ wide, and he misjudged/the wind the ball....
the people who had a good view, was the ball clearly over the line, as the linesman would not of had a good view and the goal lines were covered with sand..

Telford obviously decided to try some long shots in the first half because of the wind. I hadn't realised it was that bad, but I was squashed in behind the goal.
In the second half the hardest thing Howie had to deal with was Tinno's high back pass.
Howie is easily the number one keeper at the club.
