Jamo - the Rich Kids played Tiffanys and Mick Jones came on for the encore and they did White Riot. That is the closest the Clash got to Salop
Agree with first poster about Arthur Lee, best night I have spent in Wxm for many years.
Jefferson Starship in Bilston at the end of this month is one I am looking forward to.

Well, I saw the Roses when they were goths-(and they were, whatever they might say now, all leather trousers and hairspray), and just before the first album came out. I had them down as a Primal Scream rip off band then (ever listen to Made of Stone and Velocity Girl back to back?). They were ok, nothing special. The first album was great, the second bobbins. Yes, I imagine the later live shows were better as events than gigs, if you see what I mean.
Saw Oasis in front of 20 people at Leeds Duchess as well, just after they'd signed to Creation. Thought they were terrible- still do...

Yep, made of stones chorus is ripped straight from Velocity girl, but doesn't stop them writing a far better song.
Always preferred the Manics version of Velocity Girl as well.
I've grown into the Second Coming as well, Tears being an awesome song.

I totally agree with the first poster re Love
I too thought I would never get to see those songs performed live, but one very enjoyable night at the Academy in Birmingham when they toured recently sorted that!
Excellent performance, and it was really good to hear the whole album live in one sitting ;D

Super Furries were amazing at the V Festival last year.
On a side note, Coldplay were mind blowing at the same event, and the rumours are they will split if Chris Martin isn't happy with the new album, meaning I will have been at the last ever Coldplay live show. Not too shabby ;D

Although I don't really listen to their music very much it was good to see the Sex Pistols at Pheonix 96' just to get a taster of what things where like back then.
When the Happy Mondays reformed at V2000 I was made up, they were possibley the most enjoyable bad there, although muscially they were not the strongest.

Velocity Girl is the perfect song- no longer than it needs to be and with a great guitar solo. Never heard the Manic's version, but I can't imagine them improving on it really- especially considering what they did to that McCarthy song they murdered.

I'll add "The Pixies" to that little list now!
