Thank god for general studies - it got me the required points to get to uni - otherwise i would be working a KFC. After that i kicked on and now have a good job, so becarefull this rubbish subject (and it is) could come back to save your ass in the future!!!!

The lessons, if taught properly, should be as valuable as anything else you learn during your time spent in school.
The exam is a waste of time though.

Dont get me wrong i rarely if ever went to gen stuides but the exam is so easy we had to do an eassy on soaps in modern day societs - so when you come to revise make sure you watch enders and corrie is the exam still multiple choice

If you didn't turn up, you'd get a B, in my experience.

Surely the college itself is the learning centre - If not then wtf is the college?

Nope Ant got an A in his general studies.
I also agree it's a complete waste of time, the college only teaches it as they get money off the government to teach it.
We had 1 hour a week (waste of time for even that) in the first year and then the second year lessons were optional - enough to say that even the hardiest soles didn't show up to those lessons!
All the uni's I applied to threw the general studies exam out of the window and didn't want anything to do with it.
