I know we are all loving each other at the moment, but this is disappointing. An ill judged comment to say the least.
Those people who posted well argued and heart felt reasons for making the game all ticket must feel they have been insulted.

Whilst the good CRISIS management to get more STFC fans in by using the Barnet seats was a good decision at the time, it surely just needed some common sense to realise the demand for this game.
Progress has been made in recent times at STFC but so many people were questioning this decision and yet they still did not listen, and statements like this do no-ones reputation ANY good.
Tickets could have been on sale straight after the Gravesend game so time was not an issue, even if it meant just selling 6000 tickets until we knew who we were playing it would have made sense.

Only to really echo many other comments as a priority card holder I do feel that tickets should have been on sale in advance to ensure regulars / exiles to confirm their places its all very well saying only fans getting there before 3pm deserve to get in (which in part I agree with) but we all have experience of bank holiday traffic and some delays are inevitable however much planning you do in advance.
I was in the ground a little after 2 (it may not have looked busy at the ends but the walkway all down the riverside was gridlocked)and I had to ask permission from the steward to be let back to the front where I was stood when I went to the toilet.
All in all well done to all at the club for a thoroughly nerve wrackingly enjoyable day, I dont envy the job you have Judy but as always from each event we can only learn and improve. I hindsight the policy worked for this game and we can accept that the clubs decision was the correct one but the club also need to appreciate that as fans for ourselves we need to be at these important games and to be able to purchase a ticket in advance would give us peace of mind

I had to go in the seats Arrived too late due to stragglers dragging feet. There was loads of space on riverside near station end. Shame we haven't got an entrance down there otherwise it would have been practical to have a few more down there. ps bloody hard work getting the centre lot singing!

Generally all ticket game inconvience everyone. They cost the club money to print tickets, time and effort on selling, and for 90% of the cases arent needed. Who is to say that if the Chester game wasnt all ticket we'd have got 7000 plus!
Its always hard on the people who miss out, and usually its a bloke from miles away, who works (Bank Holiday Monday - laff but I've done it), and can just make it fro 3p.m.
As Judy said even people who came to the ground up to 3.15 got in, so you cant grumble.
If we get to a situation where most games are all ticket believe you me we will see a drop in our attendances, because people who may come on the off chance wont bother. The question of course is should you make a game all ticket knowing that you could be 1000 down on the gate, so that regulars are catered, knowing that if you dont make it all ticket, you'll cater for 99% of the regulars anyhow, and still attract Mr PartTimer and his money, which unfortunately we need!
Sean, dont have a pop at Judy. At least she has come on here and given her opinon like you do yours. Respect it.
PS - Can you help out with selling Merchandise Saturday???

Ade - I think her comments were a bit off to be honest - to put it extremely mildly.
And as often happens with the club the comments that were made before the game were taken - unreasonably - in a personal way.
Those comments were measured and were correct -and we do not need an employee of the club wagging their finger in our faces - as Phil termed it.

I for one had a go at the club via Judy....I have e-mailed her and congratulated them on how things went on Monday and on the support for the B&A block.
I still don't agree with how I was treated as a season ticket holder, but we can't agree all the time.!!

I haven't entered this debate because the ticketing arrangements are now light years ahead of the bad of days of my friend being Secretary. Also the help I and many other Town fans have received from Judy and Ian this season has been fantastic. This isn't having a go Ian but have you heard of the phrase "The customer is always right" As a business you can always expect feedback from your customers and usually people give negative feedback quicker than positive. You won't please everyone all of the time, just think yourself lucky STFC have the choice to decide the policy decisions you make. Try working for a Government Department, apply the rules fairly, even when sonetimes you might not agree with them.

Shrewsbury fans ending up in the away end is not amateurish, it could have been dangerous. Got away with it this time but may not be so lucky in the future.

for employees of the club to come on here with their own bitter postings is an embarrassement!!!!
To be honest, I feel that employees posting there "personal" opinions instead of providing information in a professional manner ensures the club loses all its credibility - in short - its a joke!
I wonder if the secetarys/ web masters of manchester utd or arsenal post on there messageboards demanding apologies or moaning about how "we cant win" blah blah
Im sure they dont - because they act in a professional manner which befits the position.
Wise UP!

had the decision been up to me ( ) a, the family stand would be in the wakeman stand for starters (i've never understood why all the kids should be next to away fans) b, i would have given barnet 800 seats only that left 7200 spaces for town fans including the station end

I think i'd prefer my club to be open and honest in its opinions than insecure and unemotional. I'd rather hear a reason for something than nothing at all. And whats all this rubbish that people in the club should not voice their opinions?!? do you want a club that really acts like a business and holds you at arms length or one that attempts to involve you with decisions and gives its opinion once and a while. If we wish to be close to the heart of the club we have to listen to those inside as well as out.

I think it's time we put this one to bed people.
We are not a Premiership club, we don't have a premiership level of staff and pay-scale, so don't expect premiership service.
We have a SMALL team of HARD-working staff, who are doing their best to deal with a major event. How many people are satisfied with the Glastonbury ticket service? How much assistance has the Conference provided? Yes, we have communication issues, but so does any business. God knows my employers do!
Can you blame people for getting wound up and needing to let off steam? It's not just our right to do so. Wouldn't you rather they were honestly posting their frustrations under their own names than having to defend themselves anonymously? If we can happily shout and criticise them by name, they have equal right to shout back.
Give 'em a break and let 'em get on with it!

But sometimes it's the little things that make you wonder what's going on...
I mean, why produce a new replica kit (limited) with Playoffs 2004 written on it when the kit in question (I believe) isn't even going to be used, we didn't use it at Barnet and as Aldershot are in white for the final we are not going to use it then either? I always thought if a shirt was released wish such an addition to the crest it would because it was used at that time? Why put that on the shirt?
PILCH, I think clubs put the family stand in-between home and away supporters is because families from both clubs can purchase tickets for that section. Therefore, you have both home and away fans together...I think families from visiting clubs can take advantage of the family stand pricing can't they?

I think they use family stands as a "human shield" between the opposing throngs of ruffians that are us "supporters".
Isn't the new kit for next season, therefore not really applicable to any competitve games for this year anyway?

Well, they came in when they started to stamp down on Hooliganism, didn't they? Viewed as a "safe haven" for parents and chiddlings, then stuck between Home and Away as they were expected to be a "quiet barrier" between the inciteful rantings of the bovver boys. Little did they realises the kids were just as bad

I had promised myself to keep out of this one, but...
what I object to is having the posts on here distorted and misquoted. There is a paranoia which picks up on a few personal remarks and ignores the majority of constructively intentioned messages.
I seriously wonder whether posts from the likes of Shrews and Royals have actually been read because the issues she raised are important and should be addressed.
I work for a FMCG manufacturer, we have literally millions of customers and our brands are in every supermarket. I know what it's like to face the wrath of the Great British Public!
The first rule of Customer service is not to take things personally, then always react positively and most important - every complaint is to be treated seriously and is information to be used to improve the quality of the product and service. We know that if we don't then people will buy the competitors product

it is stuff you sell a lot of in little units
it is stuff you make an instant decision to buy
it is stuff that does not last long
so a newspaper and baked beans would fit the bill
