only really a definitive list of the last 20 years with a bias towards the last 10 -which happens to coincide with the worst period in our history. I doubt whether anyone in the last 10-12 years would get in an all time top 10-20 town players. Carl griffiths would be the last one -difficult to judge where Luke might finish. The top 10s generlly reflect our age. No one's mentioned Arthur Rowley yet - I'll wait for DavefromAlty to do that

Pricey, you can't make this a 'definative top 10', most of you are too young to have seen Town when we had truly excellent players. Certainly no one who has played in the last 15 years or so would get into mine.
King Arthur is undisputedly our best ever, the rest are in no particular order.
A. Rowley J. McGinley N. Pearson J. Moloney B. Wardle B. McNally J. McLaughlin T. Kelly P. McGuire A.Durban

1. Steve Ogrizovic... narrowly ahead of Ken Mulhearn 2. Alf Wood...the greatest leader of the line we ever had...I just missed seeing AR...Alfie's 5 goals v Blackburn Rovers were something to behold 3. Ricky Moir....awesome in the middle of the team 4. Graham Turner.... we lost 4-3 at Chester in the Lge Cup, but we gained GT 5. Ross Maclaren....the sweeper system might have been invented for him 6. Paul Maguire....just one of the stars of the 79 championship winning side, but what a star 7. Nigel Pearson....possibly the best centre back....he and David Linighan kept us in the old Second Division almost by themselves 8. Bernard McNally 9. Sammy Irvine 10. John McGinlay....when he left the club our slow but sure decline began 11. Luke Rodgers....the one current Salop player who might get into a best of all time Shrewsbury Town team
Honourable mentions to Steve Cross, Geoff Fellows, Tony Gregory, Paul Evans, Sammy Chapman, Tony Kelly, Dave Roderts, Alan Groves....and probably many others I've forgotten

Like DavefromAlty says, a lot of us haven't had the pleasure of seeing the best Town players, myself included, as my first game was towards end of 94/95 season (not too many high points since then, perhaps I'm a jinx !!).
However, my favourites in those years (not necessarily the best/most skillful players, which is why Darren Currie isn't there) have been:
1. Nigel Jemson 2. Paul Evans 3. Dean Spink 4. Mark Taylor 5. Dave Walton 6. Kevin Seabury 7. Steve Anthrobus 8. Luke Rodgers 9. Kevin Seabury 10. Steve Jagielka (before he got crocked & lost his pace).
