i don't think it's p**sed everyone off, yes a 10-15 people on here are upset and a couple of letters in the papers.
if you look at it in simple terms nothing will change from last year, chris will have his do, wynnie will have his do, b&a will have theirs, junior blues will make their awards.
the only addition is the club putting on a function that involves a lot of entertainment, and we've also asked for votes for club awards.

I'll CC you a copy of my letter.
I think the PR is absolutely terrible. Considering we've brought in someone to look at this and a marketing manager too I'm less than impressed with the handling of the end of season do.
I do think a few more than just 10-15 ppl on here were annoyed as well, the junior blues committee wrote a letter to the club revealing their thoughts too.
I'm all for the club raising extra revenue but the PR is far from perfect.

I have to agree with Ant, WelshShrew and others on this and I know for a fact that the other groups have all had their noses put out by an overpriced event for the average fan and then label it the Presentation Night for fans awards.
How many corporate bigwigs will be there who don't even know the players names or what colours we play in?
I understand as well that invites were sent out to all who had put sponsorship into the club? Well thanks for my invite (NOT) Mr Peters. ASFC have put over £2,000 into STFC by way of sponsorship this year. Obviously not enough though.
I have no gripes with a summer ball to raise money for STFC and hope it sells out. From that point of view it is good the club are looking to an alternative market to raise funds for STFC.
But how dare the club label it a fans presentation night when the majority of fans will not see the awards for which they have voted being handed out due to being priced out.
As I said before it should have simply been labelled "An Executive Presentation Night" with Executive members voting their awards. It would have been very simple to avoid the MAJOR O.G. the club have scored on PR here.
All the major fans groups have had a presentation night for years at The Lord Hill, the players and management have come along and all the majority of presentations made at that night. This is the real fans do. Why suddenly hijack it from the majority and make us feel 2nd class citizens? I'm afraid that is what has happened.
I would implore you to show this to Mark Peters as he needs to know the depth of feeling here Ian. I know I'm speaking for a vast majority of fans.
By the way, for those interested, the lepers amongst us who aren't good enough to see the Clubs Presentation Night, the REAL FANS AWARDS NIGHT WILL BE THURSDAY MAY 13TH (TBC) AT THE LORD HILL. This will see (the obviously very secondary awards) of the Away Travel Club; the Junior Blues; B&A; ASFC and any others whom I'm sorry I may have forgotten to mention.
TICKETS AT THE VERY REASONABLE AND AFFORDABLE £5 Adults and £3 U/16's and Pensioners. See you there.

£5 seems very very very reasonalbe to me. And a hell of a bargain to!
No way would i pay an extra £40 just for a few prawn sandwiches, caviar and a wonderful ABBA tribute band.

on the same subject i'm always amazed by the lack of questions that get sent in via asktheboard on the site. You've had my question Ian since the 29th Feburary.

I'll send it again - if I can find it.
I'll defend the club on this one. Money is short, every penny counts. If they can get some money in the coffers over the summer all well and good.
Poole is someone who could be good for the club or bad. People say he should talk to the fans. But look at us we're a rabble sniping at the bloke for everything he does at the club and everything he has done in the past.
I say again - we need to wise up here. A Supporters Trust prior to any radical change in the ownership of the club is an essential.

Here here Are there anyplans affot for a supporters trust to be set up. Or is everyone happy because the club are volunterily communicating with the supporters through the unbreller group. We need a supporters trust.

The whole "Executive Market" thing is a complete smokescreen in my view
If it is aimed at the executive market then why are the posters in bright colours with flower power writing offering a "Groovy" evening with an Abba tribute band
That is not aimed at executives at all, if it was it would be black tie with a Jazz band and smart posters surely?

As I said last night , I hope the "Uk's Leading Abba Tribute Band" at least sound like Abba cos they sure don,t look like them !
