Very dissappointed by the amount of racist chanting, comments and shouting by town fans last night, i would like to have said it was a small minority but i stood in two places in the ground last night and the amount of crap being spouted was appalling...and by lots of different people of all age groups.
I have to admit that i havn't really heard much racism in the ground before, but last night was really bad...

Needless to say they hadn't signed the fans charter!- How sickening- I hate racism. We've got a black vicar, Sam, at out church- and he's great- the best we've ever had. I teach some Indian and Pakistani children- they work really hard, are respectful to adults and are far better behaved than most. Racism's not far off Nazi attitude- they believe that the only"super race" are Aryans, is it?- Fair haired and blue eyed? It's that bad. What's the club doing about it?

Like WiganShrew my sister also teaches various cultures in her school in Wolverhampton and she finds that the White English are the least polite and hard working. Its a damn shame we have to put up with this type of behaviour in today's multicultural society. My only concern is that virtually every week down the Meadow the announcer tells us the Club will not tolerate racism, yet I never see anybody kicked out and banned. There was a lot of stewards on duty last night, surely sombody from them would have heard this racial comments. I would also like to say, I personally never heard a racial comment made where I was standing, but what Kickinpretty as said it must have happened. Get a grip STFC and kick these idiots out of the ground.

It was awful. I really thought we had heard the last of that. Maybe I was wrong in my article this week.

For the first time in a little while I didn't hear anything last night, perhaps most of the racists were too busy aiming insults at the Telford fans?

whilst the racist chanting was taking place my partner and a work colleague both saw one of the stewards laughing at this "wit"(tall steward standing by the closed loos if anyone at the club is interested) i know that we should ask these idiots to refrain but where we were standing we were the minority and racism seemed the norm! i would like to see a zero-tolerance policy, capture them on video-tape then eject them .dont waste time with ineffectual bans lets take their money each week and then eject them again!

One of my mates heard a steward laughing at a racist chant, so if the club are so anxious about stopping it the first step is telling the stewards not to join in.

Certainly it's something which needs to be dealth with - first step to bring it up at an Umbrella Group meeting maybe? It's a shocking state of affairs it really is.

"is this the same club that £200 off me for aseason ticket so that i could queue behind loads of people paying cash at the s/t turnstile?"
Seems a bit harsh!
Surely they were just trying to ease congestion and get people into the ground quickly and safely and avoid delays?

Possibly Guest - although I didn't mind and I had to do the same as you - because if it hadn't have happened that way then almost certainly the kick-off would have been delayed by 15 minutes.

You're splitting hairs, just-a-guest. Bilbo's sister and I have found that Indian and Pakistani children, on the whole, work hard and are respectful. That is what we've observed- it's a comment backed up by our experience. It may be that the culture is different- and they are brought up to respect adults. All we are saying is that white idiots who hurl abuse at people for something as superficial as the colour of their skin had better start wondering what it is that makes them "superior" that they think they have the right to do this.

what a silly little argument on an important thread, and no-one prepared to put their name to it, this isn't about a class or someone's sister, it is about our football club so let's talk the real stuff.
I didn't actually hear anything last night but if this is true it is obviously deeply disturbing and just shows that we must continue to bang the drum against racism
I would be interested to hear any other comments or experiences relating to last night, including the role of stewards. Please let me know if you wish for things to remain confidential
Please contact me at
fanscharter@yahoo.co.uk
and I will try and piece it together and then we can discuss it via the umbrella group and with the people wthin the club who are openly supportive of our campaign
I would really appreciate it if anyone who heard stuff could let me know within the next week and we can take it from there. Obviously we are at the start of a long haul to try and eradicate this stuff from our football club and we need to make sure we record problems as they arise
I would like to know where people were standing as well, because it may have just been one small group, or was it many individuals spread out
Thanks people, we must keep this issue in the foreground, and actively work with the club to benefit everyone

If people behave badly, and it upsets others- then they need to be told- whatever race they are. But the point is that nobody has the right to be offensive to people just because of the colour of their skin. Making monkey noises..etc.. well- it's just disgusting.

she could give us that information without mentioning white children ??
This constant inverted racism will eventaul lead to a raccial split in this country, its been made to be a crime to be white now !!
Im off to join the balck police society, oh i cant im not black, I know ill form a white police society , oh know i cant thats racist ...

Shes trying to find out why people judge others on thier skin colours because on what shes experienced black kids are more polite than most, so shes wandering what reasons people have for being racist towards them.

fao throbs b.h. i was stood towards the station end of the riverside where i have learnt to expect this kind of behaviour whenever there is a large away following.by half-time my girlfriend had heard enough so she joined her father by the tech end buffet, here she heard the same kind of rubbish but shouted by individuals.she spoke to you at accrington so if we see you at margate/dover we will have a word.

I am startin to wonder if the club are that interested in tackling rasism. There is a supporter that a lot of away fans will know and some have complained about to stewards. Last night he was in the sponsors lounge and club official seemed quite happy to be chatting to him. If the club are serious about tackling rasism they have to start banning supporters and publicy pointing out the culprits

I should have worded that comment better ....sorry!!
However, if you read the rest of my comments you will see im against racilism which is what the thread is about.
TBH as worked hard for this fans charter and the subject needs re-addressing if fans are still being allowed to chant racialist abuse.

With regards the steward laughing, if someone is prepared to identify him, and bring it to the attention of the Umbrella Group, then I would take it forward.
TBH did all that work on the fans charter, and if employees, even assoicates of the club pay lip service to it. What is the point.
