Just a thought about this tree of light which was vandalised a week last Saturday. How about we, B&A, make some sort of donation towards the damage that was done? What do people think? I'm sure we could spare some cash out of the b&a fund for it.... www.shrewsburychronicle.com/news/publish/article_99.php

I'm sure any money contributed would be thanked and of course a bit of possitive advertising for b&a and stfc would not hurt

Very good idea. I would certainly be in favour, and would be happy to contribute, if required.

Me too good idea! Just reading furthur down I notice we are coming up to the anniversary Of Sir Arthurs death Could we make the donation in memory of him or is that just a daft ,confusing idea?

one thought, as you've all said it looks like this was nothing to do with football fans, either town or hereford so surely by making a donaiton on the back of this story would be wrong?
the idea of making an annual donation in the name of arthur would be a fitting one and one in keeping with the tree of lights..
just a thought.

i think your right whits - but if we could get some publicity around this and get the press to put the story right at the same time about it not being about footy it might just work...
the annual B&A Arthur Rowley Memorial Donation sounds good - best get the OK from the family though...
Put me in for a fiver!

Ant - excellent idea! One of the Councillors involved Kath Owen is from Meole and very anti New Meadow. This could really show football fans in a good light. Woudl eb good publicity too.

That story says damage "possibly caused by football hooligans" I hate reporting like that and have a good mind to write to the reporter about it. It could have been caused by any number of people or groups but it's an easy and cheap shot to have a pop at football.

Cheers for all the positive replies, I'll go down there on Tuesday and write them a cheque.
How much do people think is fair - £50?

Didn't like to comment on where the money goes as i couldn't make the race night.
But i think 3 figures like £100 would sound so much better. Although i'm not sure of your total fund you have available.

The race night was ASFC's - this money will be coming from the b&a fund.
Cheers for your thoughts Tony - anyone else like to make a suggestion?

We made just over £400 from the b&a Golf Day and £350 from the fantasy football so £750
We are now evens for the first batch of polo shirts so anyone who buys one of the remaining five will be contributing £16 profit into the fund.
I'm hoping that after the next b&a do which will be sometime in January we'll have raised over £1000 this season.

This Tuesday I should have a few more XL/ XXL for sale too.
