Its not too bad, its giving the more fringe players a chance to see what they can do, and it can only be good for them.

He's having a good game, so is Carrick, the defence is looking very dodgy though. USA have had quite a few good chances, and hit the post from a freekick

I'm very surprised that we are ahead in this game. USA are a decent team, and 2-0 up playing with a B team is impressive even though the performance isn't the best.

One of the best England friendlies I've seen for ages, tackles flying in and the players really trying.

I thought it was pretty impressive considering it was a friendly. I think Sven will have to look at Michael Carrick. Alan Hanson noted yesterday that he is an excelent holding midfielder (saying he was one of the best he has seen in the prem includin makalele). Give him a year and I think he could do a job for England in the next world cup sitting behind Lampard and Gerrard.

as a Spurs fan I think Carrick is quite a good player, although i'm not convinced he's good enough. doesn't get forward enough or have enough of an attacking presence for me

They may as well field a supporters side, thanks to the FA,you dont have to be the best in the country to get an England cap.Americas B side against Engands reserve, reserve side.It will be interesting how many of this team will play in the next important fixture.

WBA may be unhappy with Richardsons performance as this might just mean Fergie wont let them have him on loan again next season. He must think all his Christmas's have come at once scoring twice, what a sweet free kick and he is left sided player excellent!

one of the worst games ever - totally meaninless and woeful to watch live
tried to get to the people with the shrewsbury flag but the nasty stewards said i was violating the stadium law and i should stay behind the endzone where the goal tender was
... anyone know whose flag it was..? I got a nice pic of it :-)
off to NY today, at least Owen is back - they should murder colombia

didn't watch it - couldn't see the point quite honestly, but it just frustrates me that England's ''first team'' is playing these games. It totally undermines the importance of an England cap to have players like these in 'high profile' matches.

Well - I enjoyed it, as did the 47,000+ who were there. High Point - NO crowd segregation. Defenately a "B" game, and treated as such it was interesting to see Richardson and Carrick take their opportunities. Alan Smith is a battler with little else to contribute, Joe Cole will be a good squad player, Sol Campbell and Wes Brown looked a decent pairing - Campbell especially looked solid. Back four in the second half were woeful though - can't remember who ended up their, but they shouldn't have been on the field. Met a couple of Shrewsbury fans in the stands. Many England flags - Leigh RMI stood out Speaking as an ex-pat, it was a good day to be English, it was a good day to support an England team, and as an ex-pat, the victory was sweet in the van on the 5 hour drive back after the match with my two US supporting friends Downside - No Surrender All-in-all -- a good day out. And this is my 1,000th post WooHoo

That game was a lot more enjoyable than what England usually serve up in a friendly game. The Spain and Holland matches were dire. I can't remember any recent others as I probably fell into a coma watching them.
