I'd prefer the world cup. But wouldn't it be nice if something happened at Much Wenlock - even if it was only the three legged race or the egg and spoon?

I just thought "I'll be able to take the kids" and then I realised they will be old enough to go on their own.

Anyone know where events will be held? Are there any venues to be outside the capital?

Anyone else not overwhelmed at the prospect of forking out for this? Much rather not, thanks. London is predicted to be minority white by 2012. The area where the stadium will be could be downtown Dacca or Karachi. What sort of image of Britain will the world see? Is there anything in it for us dumb English in the provinces?

Great! Uk's enthnic diversity helped win the bid, so I'm sure it will play a part in the games themselves.
Couldn't care less if parts of the uk are not majority white in the future!

Thanks for that, anything more recent?
And to be honest, is it such a bad thing? If there were no immigrants, we'd all still be stuck in Africa from the days of early man!

Strange coincidence that after a couple of weeks celebrating the battle of Trafalgar we've gone and scuppered the French and Spanish again... ;D
