Liverpool are going places???
Did you not see their premier$hite form???
Yes they won the champs league, but they didn't qualify as champions, runners up or even the third place team. They relied on a last minute goal from SG to qualify out of the group, had a luck peno against chelsea and were lucky enough to have a 10 minute hot patch in the final which saw them win on penalties.
They were a disgrace in the FA Cup, crap in the premierleague and didnt do much in the coca cola cup.
His previous 3/4/5 trophies all came in one season. Since then (champs league aside) liverpool have fallen further behind the front two/three, and have failed to challenge on a regular basis for the major cups, be they domestic or continental.
It is however good news that he is staying, maybe not for him, but most likely for Liverpool. He did afterall produce in big games for Liverpool last season and was oe of their more consistant performers (a month or so aside)

Didn't do much in the coca cola cup? You sure Rob?

Falling behind the top 3 in England but winning the top trophy that nither of the top three could win - i would take hahahah And now they keep the one player CFC really want, even if he does have another mare for Liverpool, atleast he wont be gunning Chealsea futerh ahead of the rest, its good for English football he stays put and enjoys some more "lucky" trophy filled years at Anfield!!!

Got to the bloody final and lost in extra time.....you're right they didn't do much!
This year they will be battling for 3rd/4th place in the Prem, and next year for 2nd and the one after that they will win it.....
you'll see..... (awaiting backlash)

If Abramovich stays with Chelsea they are going to be very hard to beat with all the money they have, nobody else can compete.

If Abramovich stays with Chelsea they are going to be very hard to beat with all the money they have, nobody else can compete. so far this summer, everyone who Chelsea have been after have rejected them....they don't have a world-class striker like Milan have Shevchenko or Arsenal have Henry and without one of those success isn't guaranteed...

so liverpool dont have a worldclass goalkeeper, they dont have a world class defender (well sorry Carragher isnt a first choice centre back/right back for England) They have Gerrard, they have a highly promising centre forward who has only just come back from a broken leg and a highly regarded spanish striker who may take longer to settle in.
Hardly the basis of a team going places.
Added to the fact they are probably going to overcomit themselves financially to their controversial new move to a new ground which seems to be getting more expensive every day and seems to be losing grants hand over fist.
Hardly the basis of a team going places.
As for the coke cup, sorry forgot they'd made the final this year.
