From the Tranmere Rovers official website.. 'Tranmere manager Brian Little said: "Perhaps his last move to Shrewsbury was a wrong move in his career... when he went there he did make a step in the wrong direction."' Let's face it, he was an average-ish player for L2 standards, what makes you think he'll hold a regular place for a L1 side who is pushing for promotion?

Why are you so negative about him? he has left Shrewsbury Town now, stop being so jealous.

So do you never offer opinions about other players moves joe? but the only time he crossed the ball with any regularity was when we were in the conference, yes he was a gd player to watch but also one of the most frustrating, so when flattering to deceive at league 2 level for many years, how are we to expect he will perform any better when he steps up to the next? I wish him all the best i just hold reservations about his ability to perform at that level

Good luck to Sam - that's what I say.
Always an exciting player to watch when on the ball but all too often the final pass was a let down, BUT, just maybe a change of club, manager, training and opportunity may benefit him and he will be successful. I hope he does achieve greater things as I hope that all players released by Shrewsbury go on to bigger and better things. There's no grudge here.

All the best Sam would be delighted to see him do well for Tranmere ,but absolutley sure leaving us was good for Sam and the right thing for STFC

Remember how many people were thrilled to see the back of Darren Currie We seem to have a problem with skilled players here, is it bad coaching or impatient fans, or perhaps just a mixture of both?

GP says he wants to see crosses into the box, I'm just wondering where they are going to come from now we don't have a specialist wide player in the squad.
He also said that Sam did get the crosses in but our strikers did not take up the correct positions.
As Joni Mitchell said, "you don't know what you've got 'til it's gone".

At the end of season Q and A Peters made ir pretty clear that he shared the views of many fans that Sam is a great guy very skilfull at going past a man but cannot cross a ball

Promising player who tasted the premiers**te and championship who had represented england at schoolboy level.... I can see why Brian Little thinks Sam may have made the wrong move in joining STFC.

Now I and probably most of you are aware of a move that Father Ted (aka Brian Little) made at a previous club which ended with him being shown the door. THAT was a step in the wrong direction

I don't think a manager can sign a 28 year old player and then say - well he does lack a little bit of quality. The fans would be thinking why?!?
I've enjoyed Sam's period as a Town player. It is time for him to have another challenge. I don't think he is quite good enough for a League 1 club looking for promotion - but I hope he proves me wrong.

we all know that sam struggles with crosses but at times over the past few seasons he's been the only one in the midfield to create any sort of danger to oppostion defences. he's never really played in a decent team be ineresting to see how he does.

I thought sam was an exciting player but had his failings. Lets hope that now we have someone better? hopefully he will play against us for Tranmere and those of us who want to can show our appreciation of his time at STFC which we couldn't at the end of season game. Thanks Supersam
