Q1. Do you support the provision of additional leisure and recreation facilities in Shrewsbury regardless of their location? Yes/ No Q2. The council expects to receive a capital receipt from the sale of the Livestock Market and the sale of council houses. Should it spend up to £5,000,000 in working in partnership to provide a new stadium and community recreational facilities on 1 site? Yes/No
Q3. Should the new stadium and community recreational facilities be developed on countryside land in Sutton? Yes/ No
Got an idea for campaigning or can you lend your support? e-mail me at ant@shrewsburytown.net or leave a message on the messageboards.
YES YES YES TO THE NEW MEADOW! was this questionaire the only time fans have been asked or was there ever an official " do you want new ground?" type form. ps question 1 means that we should all be quite happy with Sundorne Village getting all the community facillities.

The fans had no say in that questionnaire at all it was a SABC idea
To my knowledge STFC fans have never put a questionnaire out to Shrewsbury's residents

I think a petition by the fans was handed to paul Marston at one time that related to the New ground/move, cant remember how many signatures were on it, thats the nearest to the fans being asked.
Sundorne sports village, will have to wait and see when its built.

1) No. They should be put in areas identified as having a need for them. Sundorne (north shrewsbury) already has good sports facilities, which could have been updated for a reasonable sum of money.
2) Yes, providing the location is right. I would rather eat my leg however, than allow SABC and control over STFC, as in STFC become a tenant. But it would great sence for the council to invest money in the site and provide sports facilities of their own.
3) Yes. Its an excellent location that will serve a massive area of shrewsbury (south and west). The "countryside land"issue is a complete red herring. Ask the people of Bayston Hill. My mate bought a house last year for nearly 1/4 of a million on the outskirts of the village, over looking farm land ( wheat fields at the mo actually), now of coarse, the council are proposing to buy this land and use it to build affordable housing.

Yep, I saw the photo's, should it all at Sundorne, well its wont help those from the otherside of the town, plenty of kids groups bitterly disapointed it wasn't built along side the NM as originally planned, perhaps when its finished the council will provide transport from the Sutton/meole/Bellevue/Reabrook etc for the youngsters.

The place at the golf course is it going to be following the councils own pricing structure, inc passport to leisure etc, if it is i'm never going to see my daughter. If its going to be a members only type of facility ah well. I can just see some of the local youths set down the cheap cider, stubb out thier ciggerettes and pop over to the golf course to use the gym etc, i'm sure they will be most welcome it was they who were once promised a Sundorne type games hall/youth centre. Doesn't really matter now does it.

Sundorne sports village, will have to wait and see when its built. 2 petitions of 3000 names. Questionnaire -SUFAN campaigned for a yes vote for all three questions. 69% said yes. Tory adminstration withdrew £5 million from New Meadow project about two years ago. This would have provided the sports village where people wanted it at Sutton. The concil went for the cheap option! Glad were getting it, but totally in the wrong place
