Just got back from the fantastic city of Rome, anyone thinking of a short break should check this place out. Cheap sleazy jet flights from East Mids, great beer, food and the sights are breathtaking. Only downside the ever present rip off merchants, graffetti and extortionate taxi charges. Me and the Mrs are thinking of either Barcelona, Paris or Athens next any thoughts ?

All good cities. I do really like Barcelona. Don't let Alexia know I said this but Madrid is excellent as well.

Rob
I have to bimble into Brum to work today, I will gladly waffle on about Rome when I get back.
I also have a tour guide book that you can borrow if you wish. Along with some good tips on saving money.
Cheers
Stu

Lisbon is definately the hidden gem when it comes to European cities, stunning place that is also very pleasingly deviod of marauding brits on stag/hen parties.
Treat yourself and go there.

I always start looking for hotels via the Ryanair website. They are usually pretty cheap and good value. When we went to Rome we stayed in a three star hotel which was £45 per night for B&B in a triple room. Milan we did the same which worked out at a little over £20 per head for the same.

Barcelona all the way Martin, (aleix BTW). Madrid is a good city if you want to: a) Sell gold b) Eat Kebab c) Be surrounded by big headed morons
