right, i get paid on friday, rang my bank and they said i can use my card out there-its a visa electron. but for some reason am worried i wont be able 2 for some reason has anyone else got a visa electron and been able to use it abroad? thanks em x

Can you not borrow money off someone before you go then pay them back when you're back in Shrews?

well yea, but id rather not you see. just wandering thats all, i only need 2 find 1 cashpoint and take it all out lol but u know, im just checking if my card would be ok. got some money already, that should last a couple of days like, but if i can avoid borrowing off mum or dad, i would rather do that

hahaha well went to tunisia in december for a week, and didnt manage to go over the limit. was very close tho limit was 20k and my suitcase was 19.8k or summut

What bank are you with because I read Nationwide are the only bank/building society not to charge you a fee for withdrawing money from cashmachines abroad (typically about 5%)

I,ve used a visa electron when in Spain without problems. You should be alright.

My daughter has the same card as you MrsT with the Halifax and she gets no end of problems. A pattern seems to be developing here

i haaaate the halifax and must get round to changing banks at some point soon....halifax drive me up the wall coz they are full of complete crap and they aint the most helpful of people!

HSBC are top notch. their online banking service is excellent and I've never had a problem with them

Ema, I've got a couple of cards that let me withdrawal money from cash points abroad for a charge of £1.50 a time. Let us know if you need me to get you any.
