GP seems to think that we'll be going for a mid table finish. I agree with this however depending on who's brought in i feel we may be pushing for the play offs, what does everyone else think?

Realistically, with Peters looking to build a squad of young, inexperienced players, I can't see us finishing more than 3 places above where we did this season. I think we should just aim to be safe by end of March, and I would be happy with that as well. Still, it's hard to say before we've seen what the squad will be.

As always at this time of year hope springs eternal - the reality of the situation doesn't come into it till you've lost the first two games of the season.
I hope to be pushing towards promotion, with the play offs as something toi fall back to. A young squad can take time to gel but as long as you are near mid table at Christmas things can happen in the new year IF you've got the right mix.
Obviously GP is playing down our chances (quite understandably) but I just hope the team can gel quicker than he expects.

11th or 12th is a realistic hope - Oh and a good Cup run please?

I am always hopeful.
Any half decent side can make the play offs, if they get a decent start and not too many injuries.
I won't know what to expect until the new signings arrive, but I am hopeful of play offs at least.

I reckon we'll finish either 20th, 21st or 22nd...just avoiding the drop again...

I put mid table being realistic but you never know. Look how Scunny, Southend and Macclesfield did this year as compared to the season before.
I dont think (like this season) any of the teams relegated from League 1 will be that strong in the division.
If GP makes the right signings and the team gels early on in the season things could look good for us.

the question was 'hope' not 'think'

the question was 'hope' not 'think' Title of the thread was "hopes", the poll question was "think"

Hoping for the playoffs, but anywhere from 12th up to 8th would make a pleasant spring next year.

has to be play offs for me, no sure gp will settle for anything less? another 18 points on this year 6 wins would have seen us there or there abouts.
With the right signings and continued improvement well within our grasp.

Heart says higher mid table, head says lower mid table. This team will need a year or two to gel, as GP said. What we need to do the most is improve our away form and also turn those stupid home defeats (i.e. Mansfield, Wycombe, Yeovil) into points. If that can be achieved then we should have no problem getting 60-70 pts

My hope for next season is that someone fills in the trench on ottley road and builds a flippin stadium on it. Or the play offs. ;D

Depending on who GP brings in i don't see any reason why we can't sustain mid-table obscurity for the season.
If the players he brings in have the potential of Langmead (needs to score more) and Cowan (reminds of a young Dave Walton).
I hope we don't have the struggle we had this season, i would have thought the players will battle hardened and will know more what they need to do.

i reckon we will get a respectable mid table (depending on who's brought in) but im hoping for play-offs.
