Stutty, get yourself onto Ladbrookes.com and then go to poker on the top navigation bar.
It'll explain the rules for all the poker games, although 'Texas Hold Em' is the most popular.
You can download the software there.
You can deposit as little or much as you like to play. There are plenty of 'play' tables where you aren't playing for anything bar fun and it's a good opportunity to learn a bit about the game before trying for money.
Hope this helps.

But, be aware that its a very different game when playing with pretend money. If I raise someone a fiver in a real game they'd think twice before calling, whereas in a 'play' money game, there's no reason not to call. Essentially, you can't really learn the bluffing side of things unless there's something on the line. A good way to learn is to enter 10 player tournaments where everyone pays a quid, and the winnings are split between the top three. Then, if you do well, consider moving up the scale.

we were playing yesterday for $2 a game with $0.20 buy in going to ladbrokes
we had 3 games in 2 hours
winner got 70% runner up got 30%
you only need to load in a few $
you can also play for free on ladbrokes although quite often you can expect a few idiots to ruin a game by going all in with nothing first hand

I enjoy playing cards on the computer, I think I may join you sometime. I give you all fair warning though I am white hot at Solitare. Is this Texas Hands Up anything like Solitare

i'm out tonight but setting your own table up is easy
goto menu manage private tables
set up the table you want make it 'show'
and then you need to start it when ready

Thanks for that, I'll take a look...what type of poker does the B&A crowd play when they get together? Is it Texas hold em?

Not signed up yet, a Betfair man usually. Not got time now, but would definitely like to play semi-regularly. Maybe fix a weekly time or something?

its is very addictive
we only played for $2 but to be honest we played tight enough for it to have been $10,000
there was more honour and pride at stake than anything else
but definately log in and play a few play games try the tournaments, the same as the ones on telly
other games such as ohmaha and 5 or 7 card stud and pot or fixed limit, i avoid them as its a different game and different tactics are required trying to master 1 if bad enough
and personally i think no limit texas holdem tournaments are way way ahead of other variations

Any ideas on when to try this? Obviously a non footballing night would be best if it is to run, and weekends may not be ideal. Thursdays? Mondays? Sundays?
