Can't believe I've found one!
Maurice Evans - played for Didcot Town, managed Shrewsbury Town!
For anyone with Sky Digital there will be a piece on Didcot Town on BBC1 Oxford at around 6.30 this evening. Channel 954 or 955 I think.

And Maurice Evans was manager for Reading while Gary Peters was there, playing with Jerry Williams who used to play for Didcot Town!

Maurice Evans was the Oxford Manager when they beat Man Utd 2-0 in Fergies first game in charge. Remember his mugshot on the Panini '86 sticker album (which I finished after finally tracking down the balding Leicester midfielder Ian Wilson) Ian Wilson later became manager of Didc........... . . . . . . . . . No, he didn't - that would have been far too spooky - sure that he drove through the place as some point though All the best for the Diddymen tomorrow

and a big local story is the Beavon Grandad, Cyril, also graced White Hart Lane a lomg time ago, making three generations of the same family.
And as for Ian Wilson driving through Didcot at some point, he must have been lost!
