How long can you go to Australia for without applying for a visa?
Which department in Australia would you apply to get a visa/ the necessary clearance?

Sean, I recently visited oz with an Electronic Travel Authority (ETA) which allows you to visit for upto 3 months. I paid AUD20 and organised it online @ www.eta.immi.gov.auIf you need to contact the embassy here in London, then you can get them on 020-7379-4334 or via www.australia.org.ukHope that helps.

Sean, I was just about to put up what Kilburnwhite has. The ETA thing is very simple and worked fine in my case when I went last November. I went for a month for work reasons. Also I think it allows you to make a number of trips back to australia.
anyway immigration and customs at sydney were only interested in whether I'd got any apples in my bag.
