I'm very disapointed that Scott couldnt be persuaded to stay on. Scott proved himself to be a class keeper and i believe this is going to backfire on Peters next season. Class in the playoff final and deserved to at least play in the last game so he got the standing ovation he deserved.

As he was offered a contract, GP might've thought that he would be around next season?

He also probably wanted to be on the same wage. Why should we pay him the same wage when someone else can be brought in on less wages and act as a back up keeper?

Well done to Scott for his penalty saves and his consistency over the last 2 seasons, however GP has made a choice to put JH in the sticks, not only is he going to be a great keeper but he will with games behind him earn us a few quid in the long run, he wouldn't do that if he wasn't playing first team football.

well Scott might believe as most employees would that if he more than did his job competantly he may be rewarded with a contract on the same terms, if not improved.

Football is a tough business and we often forget that is what it is - tough decisions have to be made to ensure the future of the business (the club), like today. Howie will always be thought of fondly by Town fans for his heroics at many points during the past 2 seasons, not just at Stoke : I lost count this season of the number of great saves he made to keep us in a game The reality now is that Scott is 33 or so, and realistically has 1 good contract left in him. On the flip side, we have a young lad who is already excellent for our level and will no doubt be in the Premiership in a couple of seasons - GP seems to have every faith in Joe to give him the no 1 shirt and then have a back up keeper, which by its very nature will be a lower paid position than Scott is on at present. You can't attach blame to either side - GP wants to nurture a huge talent in Joe and Scott wants to earn the best he can for his family over the next couple of years - that sadly means Scott will have to leave us. Thanks for all your efforts big man , good luck for the future.
