Can't seem to get the "Clearout" thread to work, so I'll post here. Surprised that Trev didn't get a new contract - I know GP said he could go, but thought he'd done a good job back end of season, and in a difficult to fill slot (i.e. left back). With Ross Stephens gone too, I'm guessing GP has someone lined up, or has a good assurance that Ashton will stay. Otherwise it puts a lot of expectation on Lyng.

I expect that the official text message thingy will cost me an arm and a leg over the summer break, with all the newsflashes about GP's new signings. Is everyone else cautiously optimistic about the future? Promotion at our first season in the 'New Meadow'? Come on

Is Brown a definite then, or just a speculative maybe?

Fits the bill. Looks tall and gangly - the sort of player GP likes. I think we will have a bigger and more physical team under GP. I know some players e.g Sam and Luke were physical, but Gp's team will be physical, but with fewer red cards!

Agreed about Challis -thought he did well at the end of the season but prepared to trust GP on this one

Is Brown a definite then, or just a speculative maybe? JP wouldn't let MW use his phone till he told him if it was true or not, the answer is yep he was at GM on Thursday or Friday, hence Tinno leaving, also can play at right back if needed.

Any news about Jamie Tolley - had heard he may be on the way out as well, although there's no mention of this on the web site, so it may well have just been a rumour!
While I think Peters has got the retained list right, I would like to see him sign one or two experienced players in the closed season to replace O'connor, Tinson and Howie. Youngsters like Ashton, Edwards and Hart are the future of the club but we'll need a few more experienced pro's to help them along - but I'm sure Peter's is already lining up some replacements

I find the clearout quite refreshing it has been needed for some time and sentimentality has to go out of the window, thanks all you lads for your efforts especially Tinno , thanks Scott for those great penalty saves and thanks Sammy for those amazing runs. But.... we need a side that can win and I suspect a bigger more physical side is on the way..
Nat Brown may well be one of the new era but you can bet your boots Gray and Mick between them have a pretty solid game plan.
Of course strikers will be the main talking points what about Chris Greenacre from Stoke could we tempt him down here? He did a great job for Mansfield and he just may be surplus to requirements at Stoke!!
Whatever ... it will be a bold new team come 6th August and I am sure it will take a while for the team to bed in.. quite exciting all the same.
I do hope Whitehead signs he has been a real asset this year!!
Well done for GP for taking the plunge and rebuilding!!

I'm sure GP has his plans for new players well advanced which is why he is able to let so many go. If the replacements aren't better then I guess we will all be very suprised. We have underperformed for nearly 20 years now, drastic surgery was required, roll on the GP 5 year plan
