Gates open 6pm; Kick-off 6.30pm
Entrance just £1. All proceeds to the Birmingham Hospital where Junior Blue member Sean Evans has been receiving treatment - so I'm sure you will agree a very worthwhile cause.
Gary Peters and Mick Wadsworth will be playing for the staff along with a host of other well known names from STFC history.
The players bar will be open after the game, so you can all come in for a drink and a chat with players from both sides.
Please do your best to attend, it is always a cracking game and evening.
Thanks,
Chris.

Should be a good game and the £1 entrance fee will be totally worth it just to see Pricey being kicked by Gary Peters

Gotta work until 6, and no chance to hit a cashpoint.
Besides, I should learn my lesson after forking 25 quid on Saturday night for a taxi, rather than wait 1 1/2 hours on shrewsbury station with a skinful for the train.
Well spent mind, caught a lot of the Kylie gig ;D

In the interests of scientific investigation could one of the ASFC team leave their foot in on Mick Wadsworth?
I would be interested in the reaction.

Being the main striker, you just concetrate on trying to score the tap ins, and forget about the overhead bycilce kicks and shots from distance

Btw we have a special official reffing the match. Lets just hope we have no efforts that are cleared away from the goal after bouncing 5 yards over the line

I presume Judy Shone is managing the staff team again this season? The trophy has never been won by the supporters team and I bet Judy wants to keep the trophy after last years victory

I'm representing Shropshire in a Round Robin Ryder Cup style Golf tourney at the Vale of Llangollan tomorrow against Cheshire and Wales. Its a company thing so dont bother checking Sky Sports Tee off time 10.30am so I hope to get down the Meadow in time for KO, may have to go via Asda

For those finishing work a bit later, the game will go on till about 8.15pm and don't forget the players bar is open after when you can come and meet Gary Peters and some Town legends for a drink and a chat.
If past years are anything to go by their is a good chance Brian Williams, Carleton Leonard and Steve Biggins will play, plus Nigel Vaughan, Jamie Robinson, Dave Timmins and a few others.
May even be some of the first team squad, in the past we've played against the likes of Paul Evans, Paul Edwards, Wayne Williams, Tony Kelly to name but a few.

Shame the Sloppy Star haven't done a piece as was requested by myself TWICE. I see Saturday's paper carried a piece about a comp to win tickets to the Scunny game on the breakfast show on Telford fm - now forgive me but isn't Saturday's Star just a tad late I specifically asked for it to go in before Tuesday nights edition. If it is in tonight, many won't even see it before the game, or will have no chance to come down at short notice. At least Stu Dunn gave it a good mention in the Chronicle

Right I’m about to knock of work for the afternoon, in anticipation of the big game (and a short site visit to Trench in Telford on the way home!!) and for the record I’m really really nervey!! Any way just to say get down there tonight and back the ASFC, there’s a confidence this year which might catch the Staff out!!! And I will be sporting the Shrewstrust band becoming only the Second player after Ben Smith to give it an outing at the Meadow!! I have a feeling that players such as Carl, Ant, Dunny, Gal, Gez, Phill, Scotty, Edgie and Giles who have all had good seasons and been consistent and regular this season will be the reason why the staff catch a cold tonight (hopefully) There’s a good team ethic around the ASFC and as long as we keep that up and don’t start playing for our elves then there’s no reason (apart from the years of professional experience!!) that we can run them close at least!!! I cant fecking wait until 6Pm today it’s going to be ace PS anyone got good advice on a good pre match meal (I never consider this normally) I though a light batch of Jaffa cakes might do? PPS - If anyone Kicks me tonight (peters and Mick most proabley) I will do one of the following 1) Dive really really badley!!! 2) Kick them back later on

for anyone playing the pitch is a little hard and sandy, so if you've got molds might be worth putting them in just in case.

This is a member of the opposition team talking here - they have probably been watering the pitch all day!!!!! In all seriousness, I always find it a close call in this game between moulded and studs. I would advise all playing to take both and make their minds up in the pre-match warm up. It is supposed to be ccoler again tonight and evening dew may no doubt see plaers starting to slip around if they just have moulded boots on.

Chances of me wearing moulds after last year - nil. Might even purchase a pair of crampons just in case
