I prefer: "Please please please let me get what I want" or "William it was really nothing" or "Still in"

I prefer: "Please please please let me get what I want" or "William it was really nothing" or "Still in" The Smiths are just fantastic in general, non that i dislike though my personal favourite is "the boy with a thorn in his side"

hatfu I prefer: "Please please please let me get what I want" or "William it was really nothing" or "Still in" Good songs, although I think you mean 'Still Ill'? First one is as fine a homosexual love song as I have in my collection ;D Hatful of Hollow certainly has some interesting and possibly superior versions of their first album tracks, but the Queen is Dead does it for me every time.

A real groundbreaking group that will remain an inspiration for decades to come My personal favourites have always been: - How soon is now? - This night has opened my eyes - Cemetry Gates - There is a light that never goes out - Paint a vulgar picture (the best & wittiest attack on the music industry I can think of)

There Is A Light That Never Goes Out is easily their best track imo. I do like Please Please Please Let Me Get What I Want, but I must admit I prefer Muse's cover of it

some of the toughest gigs i ever went to were the smiths, they had a hard crowd...
it was weird as they are always portraied as this twee band with flowers but they crowd was a great split of students, tough p**sed blokes and football hooligans... great gigs they were to.
