One 28 and one 39. One succeeded in panicking our defence throughout the game.........and one consistentle petered out in the final third of the field.
How has Aiston managed to deceive for so long............?

Good shout I tell you what in the first half when Sam got hold of the ball and proceeded to run the ball out of play, parts of the riverside decided to sing "Super Sammy Aiston" ....for what?

He has never deceived me, I have said on these pages many times and say it again, "In my opinion he is the most overrated player ever to wear a Town shirt".

maybe he knows he's off and he's been offered a contract elsewhere (league 1 side anyone?) and wasnt really up for it/didnt want to risk injury etc...

It'll be a shame to see him go.
I notice there weren't the opposite to tonight's posts from you above after Sam's excellent display last weekend...

On today's showing you wouldn't have either player in your team. I thought we coped very well with Beagrie today in open play.

Beagrie is a classic example of a former premiership player playing out his career in the lower leagues with real success
He totally did us last year in the FA Cup and although today he didn't show up at all I think it would be a bit harsh to make any rash judgements
as for Sam, well, I just don't think he is the type of player Peters wants

I agree with Rob I think we were witnessing the last appearance of a player who will be at a higher level club next season. Thanks Sam for some great memories - good and bad. Good luck at your next "Port " of call

I noticed how every time Sc***horpe won a corner, It looked as if they were going to score. Quality delivery time after time.

I would be astonished if Sam was playing higher league football next year.
Yes he's exciting now and again when he occasionally beats his marker but 99/100 he'll then fail to deliver anything useful in terms of a final ball.
He played very well at Swansea last week but everyone knows one swallow doesn't make a summer.
Time to move on Sammy

If Sammy does leave, as seems likely, will Peters bring in a new left winger, or stick with the younger players coming through like Ling and Stephens, or even Leslie who had a very good game for the youth team. Alternatively might we see a midfield next season without any out and out wingers?

Beagrie's still arguably the best winger in our Division, has been a class act for Scunny . Quiet game for Sam. Not sure if it's his last game for us or not, usual gossip of some saying he's definitely going, some saying he's been offered a new contract on less money - we'll know when the retained list comes out.

I hear rumours that Vale left winger Jeff Smith could be released this summer.
We could do worse than get him down the Meadow to replace Sam.
Great ability to skip past defenders and a great crosser of the ball too.

Beagrie would be a handful if he was allowed space. Luckily Whitehead kept him company all afternoon and dealt with him in his no nonesense way
