Nor me, straight into the Wakeman, no problem, ended up with half a dozen Scunnies. That said, fair play to em, they were well behaved enough

There was no trouble.
Evidently the scare tactic worked well in that respect.
What was the attendance?

Point being Ian, that we could have had some problems with away fans being in the home area, ie the Swansea game again.
Whats the point in having segregation if the fans are not segregated.

Point being I didn't need ID to get in, when I thought I would. Surely that was obvious?

i always use an ID to get in. The Sc***horpe fans in the family stand behaved impeccably btw and were genuine fans.

There were two stewards checking IDs. I was walking just behind a rather attractive looking young lady and both stewards (both men) moved to her to check her ID and didn't even notice me walking past them.

No- Leah and I weren't asked for any ID either!! But you're right Cotonshrew- Scunny fans would hardly go to the trouble of buying one of our team shirts just to get in, would they?

I got to the ground at 2pm with my superblues card, priority card , season ticket ,gas bill , and they still wouldn't let me in until JP finished with his tour GP and he authorised security/stewards to let me in ;D

I assume it was a case of "looks dodgy? ask for ID". Saw no trouble, came in by train with several scunny fans on board, station well policed, town patrolled, all quiet but busy with away fans in cheerful mode.
Well done everyone for staying off the pitch btw, I'm sure Laptop is very pleased.

I proof of my address, but they wouldn't let me in with my front door, complete with number 12 on it

thing is, i only heard about this today and i was already on my way to the game. i'd rang salop in the week and they said it was all ticket for away fans only, with nothing else.
it was a poor match but at least i got to see us promoted - cheers for that!!

im not being funny, but stfc staff are dammed if they do , and their dammed if they dont...
if they hadnt asked for id and loads of scunny fans had got in our end then there would of been uproar. but coz they did and no trouble was caused people are wondering what was the point- they cant do anything right can they? you dont realise how well managed our club is

The club has improved a lot in recent years with the introduction of the working groups etc - big decisions are now made, on the whole, with the imput of the fans e.g. the Stafford cup debarcle (tell us it wasn't down to our input all you like, but you know it was). However there are still improvements to be made in this department. I don't believe this particular situation was handled in the best way. To me, having only 4,400 home fans there today was dissapointing; sadly we can only speculate on whether the scare mongering tactics used by the club throughout the week had a negative impact on the numbers in the home end today or not.

- they cant do anything right can they? you dont realise how well managed our club is Don't patronise us please. Fans of this, or any other club, have a right to have a say on matters that concern them and this issue caused quite a few of us to express an opinion that once again the club have acted in a reactionary manner rather than a pro active way. Sure things went well yesterday and we are glad about that, but imagine if it hadn't have been a club like Sc***horpe who were yesterdays visitors. Imagine Gigg Lane yesterday combined with STFC's arrangements and you have a recipe for complete disaster. More luck than judgement in my opinion , we need to have well planned and trusted procedures for all levels of matchs played at the Meadow.

Plenty of Scunny fans in the Wakeman stand and behaved excellently The atmosphere and numbers of Town fans were disappointing though but then again the match was not marketed at all by the club rather than to tell people to bring a gas bill to get in quicker. It will be interesting to see the off the pitch appointments over the summer also.

I await the big call from Chief Sayfritz. If it makes me as happy as working for the club has made you, then I'll bite their hands off
