Lost his seat to the conservatives. Now I admit i havent paid much attention to tthis part of the world, but I am amazed Is this not the MP who has won awards the his work with the local community and AFCTU??? What were the reasons for his ousting? And does this mean AFCTU may no longer enjoy such a cushey number with the local authorities?

Biggest surprise for me personally was Plaid Cymru losing Ceredigion (which includes Aberystwyth).
The fact that the election fell in early May rather than early June and the extra few hundred student voters added onto the Lib Dem cause is mainly responsible for the change.

I dont think Mr Bradley endeared himself too much to the local pro fox hunting campaigners from the rural areas of The Wrekin constituency, I think that was his own undoing, and The Wrekin has always been a marginal Labour seat anyways whereas Telford is a Labour stronghold. David Wright the re-elected Labour MP for Telford is a Shrews fan so I'm quite chuffed with the outcome ;D

Peter Bradley always comes over as complete knob to me - quite whether the Tory bloke will be any better, I would very much doubt it.
