Is he building you a house? or will he continue the policy of selling off social housing and not replacing them? Haven't we been though all of this? I decided I was voting Tory a couple of weeks ago as I thought their manifesto best dealt with the issues I found important compared to the other parties. Greg was also the only politician that we actually had a visit from, I don't even know the names of the Labour or lib Dem candidates for this constituency

I've only been visited by one candidate as well (Green) but I won't be voting for them.

The Swing-o-meter in the Thomas House must be going mad - Phil the Tory, Ant the socialist, I bet Mum is confused?

The Swing-o-meter in the Thomas House must be going mad - Phil the Tory, Ant the socialist, I bet Mum is confused? I'd consider voting for the Tories but 1) I don't like the two in charge at all. Blair has made mistakes but Letwin (*cough* *cough*) and old man Howard would be worse. 2) I'm voting in Shrewsbury and I don't like how they've treated our football club.

Just out of interest, what dissuaded you from voting Lib Dem? The Lib Dems get screwed every election to be fair, and the other two political parties go at them left, right and centre too - it's harsh. On a purely selfish note, I don't agree with their thoughts on the top band of tax. I think people who earn over 100k, or whatever the threshold is, are often very motivated and extremely hard working and should be rewarded for it.

They are rewarded. They earn lots of money, live in a nice house, have the opportunity to decide whether their child should recieve private education/health care or the public equivilent. Oh and they are probably safe and sound in the knowledge that their pension is secure Not that i am generalising or anything

Interesting take on things Ant
I think the higher tax band needs to viewed within the rest of their proposals before throwing it out. I pay significantly more tax now than I did (in relative terms) 4 yrs ago. Also, my outgoings on Education have soared. I think these would be compensated for by some of the Lib Dems proposals, plus, they don't pretend to be a "non-taxing" party like Labour, they tell you up front.
I kind of respect that.
Good luck in your quest towards your 1st £100k yr! Hope you get the government you wanted! - this is my 8th election and I'm still waiting!

If you want 9-5 hours, flex time, a social life which lets you do everything you want to do then you've got to make the sacrifice that you're probably not going to earn masses of money. Obviously the opposite of that is true too, and people shouldn't be penalised for earning more. Now, there's my generalisation done too Rob Not that i am generalising or anything [/quote]

Be interesting to see how the Ant's eye view changes when the little Antlets start to arrive - maybe not for a year or two eh?

An unecessary expense But yes, you're right, things do change and ultimately my situation will do too. God helps me the day I actually meet a girl who's on the same wavelength as me

First time ever that i actually approached the polling booth not knowing who to vote for.
I just know that we are going to end up with that oppotunist geek Kawczynski and that this town will then fall back into its cosy little slumber.
The Libs and Labour will take votes away from each other and allow the Tories in.
Anyway, heart ruled the head and i voted Labour.
Come on you reds.

There you go Ant - off to Latvia to get your girl! Is it just me, or does the brunette at the back look like you in a wig?
