Or like Coventry The only club I can think of in a worse position than us is Barnet Oh and possibly Luton Going on facilities and ground and promising future, we are the pub league team

How far east would we need to shift the stadium? ;D The club tried that years ago, it caused mayhem amongst the local residents, never even got onto paper

An idea was once muted about moving to Weir farm, well near there, across the river I think, caused a lot of hatred for the club amongst the residents there that still exists today

The answer lies in the Shrewsbury style of man management with each other, you are selfish cold and would step on your grannies to get somewhere in life.In Shropshire Shrewsbury people are seen as cold self seekers who would not cross the road to give anybody in need a hand.To you that read this i make an apology but this is the mentality of your area,is it any wonder that Shrewsbury carnt make one decision for the good of you all, well no beacause the main priority is the individual never the bigger picture. You need a new stadium fact, you need the council to be on your side to build it fact, and the longer the two parties fight each other the more expensive the project will be...fact.

Now playing in a real pub league at a ground in Kingston (equivalent to us playing in Telford). Fair play to the fans though! GM is developable unlike Kenilworth Road. The likely demographic future of Looton may not be amenable to a football team Chester are worse for having to play at the Deva. Darlington! - Leaving the atmospheric Feethams for a threequarters empty out of town superstadium. Any Fulham fans who were there before the al Fayed era. Colchester, tiny s**t ground. Likewise Cheltenham, Macclesfield and Torquay. And Hartlepool despite 1990s improvements. Chesterfield. Saltergate is miles worse than the Meadow with a lower capacity these days. Bristol Rovers, still in with the RuggerBoys and with very few seats. Brighton! Come on Town / SABC. Sort out an exit through the Abbey gardens and tart up the terraces for a 10000 capacity, and lets figure out how the spanking new stand at the Station End will be financed.

You've missed the point.
I was refereing to clubs being dicked about by the local authority, not clubs with cr@p grounds.
Brighton are being dicked about by presscot, not the local council. Although i suppose nit has the same effect
Didnt mention wilmbledon, because a) they dont exist, and B) their chairman was a crook who the locall council werent prepared to give lots of lands to build a complex of leisure.
Been down the route of building a route through the gardens. Council rejected it.
Great lets build one decent stand at the the station end, and have two crewe like stands (riverside+wakeman-which cant have a roof) . Capacity would still be reduced, due to the one access road.
The ground would still flood etc...

Yawn, your so predictable The whining that we have the worst facilities in the league and that the club will die etc. etc. when there are a dozen clubs worse off than us is rather boring.

Additional pedestrian access to the Gay Meadow would do nothing to increase the permitted capacity. The capacity is restricted due to a lack of vehicular access for the emergency services. With some form of additional vehicular access to Gay Meadow a 10000 capacity stadium would never be allowed.

but like Brighton, Luton and Barnet we do have some of the worst facilities in the leagues and also like the three mentioned above in order to surive lon a long term basis, let alone grow and improve we need to move.
I seem to recall the club attempting to draw up plans to redevelop the Gay Meadow, but it being unfeasible.
But as you said you dont go any more and have rarely been in the past so its understandable that you wouldnt understand.

There is something exciting about clubs that live on the edge isn't there. Guess were are ready for the boring life in our shiny new stadium.
