Sorry, you didn't sell out the away end. It was something like 1950

i never said we did, read my post again.
I said its little wonder we failed to sell out a 4000 capacity stand when our average home gates (including away fans) were 3,800.
Having said that i think we probably took more than that, if for no other reason than the fact we normally take 2000+ to Kiddie.....

Get outta the way kid!! The away tier holds 2000, the bottom 1000 There was about 400 spaces upstairs and 150-200 taking up the bottom tier. Not bad though for a night game

The thing is you came to us towards the end of the season when you were on course for promotion, of course you were going to have a really good away following as not only was it a derby but it was a vital game.
Compare that to previous time we played you at our place around 97 when you effectively sent us down (Bloody Bennett!!!), I don't think you had anything to play for and as a result you didn't bring many by your usual standards.
It happens though, I mean last season we took not far off 3,000 to Chester on a Tuesday night as it was a promotion clash whereas this season we took 1,300 on a Saturday because we were sh!t!
Regarding the debate over rivalry, there is no doubt that Chester/Wrexham is the main one but there is definitely rivalry between all 3 of us. I've got some football fans book where all fans give their rivals, Wrexham say the main one is Chester but they also have rivalry with Shrewsbury, particuarly fans to the south of Wrexham. I suppose its a bit like South Shropshire based Shrewsbury fans disliking Hereford but most fans from Shrewsbury don't care about them.
I've grown up with Walsall and Wrexham as rivals, I think the Telford thing runs a bit deeper than football.

IF we go down - as it looks like we will - we will sell our 2000 allocation at the Divvy Stadium and 2000 at Shrewsbury no problem. I anticipate Sunday noon kick-offs for all ages...which are crap! We could easily sell out double our allocation for trips to Chester and Shrews NO PROBLEM!
Right, off to Stockport!
