i expect everyone knows about the liverpool - everton 4th champ league spot saga
if liverpool win the champions league and finish 5th they could take evertons spot in the comp
uefa have said today that 5 teams def wont be allowed in (bet they would if it was barca or real)
i think it would be a disgrace if everton miss out this way
at the very least have a liverpool v everton play off
but as far as i see it the rules were there at the start of the season and can't be changed now
any other suggestions ?
all irrelevant anyway as chelsea will hammer them and bolton take 4th spot ;D

Reading couldn't defend the Simod Cup when they won it. Silly rule having it for the old division one and two clubs....so what if we got relegated to the third! Very unfair! ;D

everton liverpool chelsea man uts should not be in champions league full stop!!

Firstly I agree with Middle here, its a con...champs my arse Secondly it would be interesting if the Spanish or italian sides where put in this bracket ie win but finish 5th...their 4th side would go mad. Everton should be in it, they deserve it Liverpool dont end of!

uefa have said today that 5 teams def wont be allowed in (bet they would if it was barca or real) It happened when Real won it a few years back but finished 5th in La Liga. The Spanish FA gave Zaragoza's champions league place to Real

Everton should stay
you cannot change the rules now
In future they need a proces sbilt into the rules, but this year you cannot change what was declared at the start of the season IMO

Lenin reckons Liverpool have NO CHANCE of winning the champions league anyway. So their is nothing to worry about my fellow fans. Lenin also reckon that Everton will get the 4th place finish. Liverpool are far too inconsistent in the league to catch up Everton. Bolton are no threat IMHO. Everton only need 6 more points and Liverpool will lose to Arsenal so really Everton only need one win. There you have it my fellow shrews. Lenin's EXPERT view on the Premiership.

Champs League: Premiership champions and FA Cup winners only.
UEFA Cup: Next couple down the Prem, League Cup winners.
That should cut down on "rested" senior teams in cup competitions, and gives the boys in the lower leagues a chance of Euro gold.
However, for this season, Toffees in, Viva Espana XI out! ;D

Don't suppose you'll be screaming your head off when he nets the winner, from 30 yards, in the World Cup final then

Are you the guy who had the balls to face down the gang of knuckledraggers the other day. If so humble appologies, very sorry and feel free to say whatever you want. Didn't mean it - honest. Am I forgiven

Champions league, the name is having a laugh. As for L'pool Everton debate, it's a delicate one. Personally I think it'd be ridiculous if Liverpool DID win the CL and weren't allowed back in it next year to defend their title. However, how can you say Everton don't deserve it? The FA loses either way I feel.

If Liverpool do win it and the FA do choose to put them in with Everton 4th, seeing as so much money is involved you may see some kind of court case as a result....

Cheers to Lenin on this one...spot on soviet mon. Evertons my second team and all the red noses I know have been really getting on my nerves about this but lets face it, even when I'm trying to be impartial they haven't got a cat in hells chance against Chelsea let alone winning the whole thing.

Chicken Never Just showing the lad the respect he deserves for making a stand Regarding Liverpool/Everton, no debate really. Rules are clear. All, including the winners, have to qualify (As Brazil in the world cup). Fourth qualifies, fifth doesn't. Not rocket science. If it doesn't suit, change the rules for next season, but not retrospectively. Should be interesting on Wednesday. I'd like to watch, but have a sock drawer urgently in need of tidying

personally i think if it comes to it everton should get the place. they would have qualified by right and liverpool wouldn't.
Also all season long everton have been playing with a handicap on liverpool e.g. having a lot less money as liverpool have had all the extra income from the champions league - and that extra cash should have ensured liverpool qualified for anyway
