Yes i agree but many could have done the job alot better with the budget he had and you have to say that we didn't really deserve to go up last season, there were many teams much better than us..... ok he got us straight back up and for that i give him respect!

Quinn will talk about Shrewsbury whenever and wherever he can. On the CV it will look good bringing a team straight back up to the league.
people will forget about biggest squad, budget etc and only see what is in black and white.
Cant blame him for playing on his strong points,

You are right, but there are also plenty of manager who could have fecked it up. We went up, thats all that matters, better than being in herefords position-best team in the conference all season, miss out the championship by a couple of points, knocked out in the play-offs

To me Quinn was an interim manager who came here to do a job, he did it and moved on before he reversed what he had acheived.
as for the thinking that other managers could have done it better, thats rubbish. Quinn built a new team with a solid defence from the shambles of the previous season and acheived what he set out to do on his first attempt, and we should be grateful for that.
Fair enough this season didn't work out, but he moved on before any damage was done and we now have the right man for the job, and the future looks bright.

Bit harsh guys! He spoke about Shrewsbury cos he was rung up and asked questions about them! What was he supposed to do?
He got the club promoted and if he came back as boss of Peterboro next year and I was at the game, I would clap, not boo. His budget was big but so was Carlisle's this year and they've certainly done no better than Shrewsbury. Let's see if they can navigate the play-offs as well. It's not easy to get out of the Conference and Quinn did it. Maybe he was a bit lucky, but few managers have managed anything without some good fortune.
As for this year, petetheloon summarises it brilliantly above. Well said sir!

I can't see any rationale for anyone doing any differently.

A lucky manager but not a good one - but just what we needed last season.

An excellent summing up from Pete. I will clap him if he comes back - he did what he was told to do - OK we were lucky but fate decreed it would happen and that it would happen that way. GP has kept us up so we don't have to worry about what reception Quinn would get if he hadn't.
I really do feel that it is time to move on now and look forward to the future.

I applauded him outside the Guildhall, at the civic reception last May, as I am sure some of his critics did. He did his best for us, and certainly did not deliberately fail. Possibly League 2 was slightly out of his depth, because he had been in the Conference for a few years. If he gets the Posh job, he may make a better job of it next time. I will certainly applaud him on his return, as a thank-you, but would then like to see the Town send him and his boys packing, on the end of a thrashing.
