I happened to call in to Reception at the Meadow, after the game yesterday, and helped myself to half a dozen voting slips, for the player of the season award, for my family to cast their votes. On inspection, we were all extremely disappointed to see that the club have decided that we should only have a choice to vote on 5 names, for the main award. These are Tinson, Whitehead, Walton, Ashton and Tolley. As three of us wanted to vote for Howie, these forms seem pointless, and throw up a couple of questions. a) Who decides on the 5 names, why not give us a blank space to fill in the name of our own choice? b) How the hell does the name Tolley manage to get onto that list of 5?

it will be launched properly on monday, needed to get out on saturday so people who only go to games could have a vote... all selections by gp and his staff.
also goal of the season should be launched on monday.

Probably explains why Howie isint on there. Goal of season has to be Langmeads against Chester

Quite frankly I can't believe that people are not more than a little annoyed at being told who they can vote for. I pay my money AND have the right to make MY choice. IMO Moss has more right to be on there than Ashton. This is player of the SEASON, not a couple of months. I wouldn't vote for any of them......and am a little concerned at the choice of five by the parties involved too. If the paying public at the games were supposed to be the target on Saturday, why weren't they available to all as you went in? I wasn't offered one as I entered? No one was wandering round with them inside the ground....I don't go in the bar..... I would like to know who's idea this was to change it and why? Didn't the thought cross their mind that people may want a free choice? I will not be dictated to in this way and will not vote if I seriously have a limited choice... I'm slightly peeved if it isn't coming through in the post!

GP's ****ed up here then.
Howie will sweep the board everywhere else. I couldn't really bear to vote for anyone but Tinson from that list (Neil's only been playing for 4 months for Christs sake, and Walton has hardly been value for money).

I think GP got the question wrong anyway and put his retained list

simple write doiwn howies name instead of ticking the box for the other players names. If everyone does this, they may get the message

Is this the vote for the 'Carling' £35 awards night? They're not the proper awards anyway so don't worry about it

It might be a bit controversial, but I'm giving my vote to Dave Edwards. Definitely the most improved player in the squad, and despite his relatively few appearances has made some telling contributions. I think he will surpass Tolley and become a key asset next season.
