i have just read the some manchester paper which says
"Former Manchester City striker Mike Sheron gave the visitors the lead after referee Kaye had been fooled by a theatrical dive by striker Luke Rodgers."
is this sour grapes cos we ended their play off hopes? or did rodgers dive to earn us a much needed point?

Def peno - shame the ref missed the blatant handball, which should have earned us a second penalty.

seen sky replay, looks a clear pen tapped the ball past the defender, he then tripped him

Was on the edge of the area and was handball (well more ball to hand) - but then agains how many blatant penalties did the ref NOT give to Dale. btw I think the handball was a penalty but Rogers fell to the ground like he had been hit by a firework or somehting

And you know how people react when they've been hit by fireworks? or was it just a cheap jab

To be honest Rochdalecol,
Luke can dive with the best of them. I hate seeing players dive, it is one of my pet hates of the modern game. I don't care if it is a player from my own team, it is blatant cheating and part of the game I want to see eradicated.
On this occassion however, Luke was fouled and it was a pen.

I managed to see a replay about 3am this morning on sky, looked a peno to me but it happened very quickly. I wouldn't mind seeing it again a couple of times whilst I am not half asleep just to make sure. One thing's for certain, if that had happened at the other end of the pitch the Dale fans would have been whinging something rotten had it not been given.

:-*Yes we have been moaning for the couple of blatant pens that were not given - but the game is over and we cant change the result now !
Rodgers is a perfect example of how a nurtured talent has been wasted by the player - Rodgers and our own "Super Kev" Twonson broke through at the same time. Kev has played once this season for us and will be released at the end of the season - big fish little pond syndrome

Rodgers hasn't developed as we all thought he would have but its a not a case of the player wanting it (not many players put as much effort as he does each week). Injuries certainly haven't helped (he has lost some pace) but whether his lack of development is down to lack of coaching or perhaps he isn't as good as the hype who knows. Its certainly not a case of him wasting it But then again you Rochdale fans have never liked him, wonder why that is ;D

Col's comment was more that Rodgers has developed from being a promising youngster whereas our SuperKev hasn't, with SuperKev's mental attitude being in doubt, not Luke 'who' From t'other end i was convinced it was a dive, well I would be wouldn't I. Not seen the highlights yet so I can't say definitely, and I won't alter your poll from 100% on that basis
