Another superb run today Had to laugh, a few minutes ago Brendan Foster & Steve Cram thought she had a problem when she stopped and squatted at the side of the road, so they ran the tape back to find the problem....she was having a pee

Seemed pretty fresh 10 minutes after the race. She may go again in the 6.05 at Wolverhampton tomorrow

Third fastest marathon run in history (all 3 held by Paula). My god, how terrible. In 10 years time those records will be way down the list of womens marathon times. Say what you like but its medals that people remember

And 3 world records tend to be remembered too.
She has been world record holder for 2.5 years so far - has anyone got near to her records? Yes. But they are all called Paula Radcliffe. 2:15:25 is here to stay for a very very long time, unless she beats it herself.

Its just a shame that when it matters in the big competitions (mainly thinking about world championships and olympics) the Ethipians etal beat her at her own game ie, let her go off at her own pace, and tag along on her shoulder, only to leave her for dust when she becomes knackered a few laps from the end.

Medals-wise, she has:
World Champs - Silver for the 10K (should have been gold). European Champs - Gold in 10K Commonwealths - Gold in the 5K
European Cup - 3 Golds, 2 silvers and a bronze World cross country - 2 Golds, 3 silvers and a bronze European cross country - 2 Golds World Half Marathon - 3 Golds
and 4 AAA titles.
London Marathon multiple winner and New York winner.
Also Sports Personality of the year.
Sure, she's missed out in the Olympics (her injury last year and a 4th and a 5th) but that record suggests she's going to be remembered as one of the greats.

Bloody typical British attitude to even someone who is the greatest Sporswoman of our generation,O.K hands all of you that run 150 miles a week training and can knock off running at full speed, five min miles for two and a quarter hours. This English woman is the greatest distance runner this Island has produced, and will possilbly ever produce..wake up and smell the coffee and enjoy a sportperson that is a winner rarther than a nice loser.

I've been a fan of Paula's since she came onto the scene, I asked a rele who was a marathon runner what he thought of her, he said then that she was as he called it tuning in her body, and once she got there if she wanted she would be top for years. She is amazing I hope that she will pass on her expertise to our young athletes
