What should the 5 year plan be for Salop? Year 0 - Div 2 survival - Gary Peters signs a contract Year 1 - May 2006 Finish either just in or just outside play offs but don't go up. Develop useful nucleus of young / tall / strong players with excellent home record. Year 2 May 2007 moved to New Meadow. Promtion gained to Div 1 hopefully automatically. Youth program produces next 2 stars. Feeder link with big West Midlands club establihed. STFC have their own distinctive style of play that gets best out of squad Year 3 May 2008 Consolidating with top half Div1 finish - playing in front of 6000 at home - extra quality added to squad ready for next stage push. Reputation for bringing on young talent Year 4 May 2009 Play off finish in Div1 but don't go up. Gary Peters poached by top Championship side. Year 5 May 2010 GP assistant promoted to manager - but it is as if nothing has changed. Win Promotion to Championship.

I think if gary peters had wanted to work in the premier / championship he already would have, cant see him going anywhere to be honest, i think he likes the raw end of football. As for the feeder thing with a top west midlands club.....WHY? Lets try and keep our young talent so that it benefits us, screw everyone else, if they want our players then they should pay the going rate. Championship should be the five year plan though so to that!

Sounds good to me. Im really excited (in a football sense : with the future at our club, aslong as the board back Gary Peters and the new ground gets up and running. This summer will be so interesting

All i want in 5 years is a well astoblished div 1 team, with a smart ground an 6000 + crowds and that would do me

There's a lot to be said to feeder clubs. Crewe used to have an association with Liverpool, Danny Murphy and Rob Jones to name but two...aslong as it offers the best deal for the club then Im happy with that.

Plymouth hit the championship in yr4 of their 5 year plan. And don't forget 4.5 years ago they were really crap too. Appointment of sturrock as manager was their key as well as ground redevelopment.
Maybe they are a bigger club than us but in GP we too have a good manager. The whole point of a vision / plan is to be challenging - no vision then we will be fending off relegation back to the Conference for the next 5 seasons. It does not necessarily mean spend spend spend - it means making the most of what you have got and having a plan that everyone involved - including the fans - will die for to achieve each goal.
The board need to drive it with the Manager facilitating on the pitch.
