Great news but a bit young for a skipper..... There's been 18 year old's as captains of the their sides...he's mature enough I reckon.

Great news if Ashton signs, a good player who can fill in several positions Looks like the end of Sedge then Captain for next season will be Walton judging by GP's unswerving faith in him

Great news Certainly not young enough to be skipper either. Remember how inspirational Darren Moss was earlier this year as one?

The "will he stay or go" swingometer shows Peters is building for next term, so he will probably stay. The futures bright, the futures blue and amber.

The main thing I read into this is that GP might actually be staying put - Great news about Ashton if Tranmere agree to a move but more importantly it's a positive sign (imo) that the best Town manager since the days of GT has intentions of staying put and signing a contract - It is to be hoped the 'summit' meeting passes by with a favourable outcome.

If/when we win this Saturday we could all go down the meadow Thursay, summit day and show our support (listen outside, whitters go upstairs and open a window )

top notch. I'd personally have Sam as captain. His discipline has improved 500% and he is one of our better and more experienced players. Thats ig GP signs him up for another couple of years

I reckon Sam will be gone along with a good 75% of the out of contract players...this club needs a clean sweep

interesting, i heard GP was hot on sam, but I'm not so sure after seeing him sit out so often away from home. We'd be mad to let him go, the lads quality and he now behaves himself

We'd be mad to let him go, the lads quality and he now behaves himself While Sam as far as I can see always gives his all, sometimes his all isnt good enough. He maybe a fans favourite, but he isnt always a managers favourite..along the same lines as Laurent Robert

Thats ig GP signs him up for another couple of years Give it a rest Rob. Or is it Sam??! ...not a chance is he captain material. As for the decision to leave him on the bench at away games, as raised in another post - I think this is down to GP wanted to go out with a more defensive team away from home, rather than going out to win a game.
