There was a lot of posts on here the other day about this hosptal.
My mother is currently in for her 3rd throat cancer op in 15 months. From the heart I would like to say the nurses are fantastic, the Hospital clean, friendly and efficient....Thank you everyone involved.
I tell you what she's a Staffordshire Lass and tough as old boots, the first words after her op were a moan "you should have shaved Stuart, what will people think".
I shall pop up to the new ground on my visit tomorrow to see any development.
Thanks one and all at RSH.
PS Can Nurses go back to wearing skirts ? ;D

My only complaint about RSH is that the Chelsea buns in the league of friends shops are too hard. Need to be a little more moist

My eldest daughter would not be alive tody, if it wasn't for RSH.
The surgeon even came to see her the next day, on his day off.
My grandson was also in RSH, having his adenoids removed. The care he received was excellent.
But I must say a good word for The Princess Royal in Telford, too.
My eldest daughter's father-in-law was there, and was very ill, but they pulled him round and he's still with us.
Also my old auntie was there about a year ago, again, they saved her life. She has been there for a lot of tests and treatment as an out-patient, too.
Both Shropshire hospitals are clean, and have excellent staff.

Dedicated staff with an ever expanding work load and some "customers" who treat them like sh*te. Taken for granted as well. Kicked around by politicians for their own ends. Dirty hospitals? Blame the private contractors not the staff. If it's that bad why not go back to in-house cleaning with matron pulling the strings. Why were such essential services put out to tender in the first place? And then there's the parking......park in the wrong area & you'll get a fine (£40?), nurses included. Worried family visiting sick relatives having to fork out £2 a time to park. Fund raising volunteers having to pay as well to deliver cheques...

Some excellent caring staff there no doubt. The care and commitment shown by some of the staff is amazing. Similar to some others, my brother wouldn't be here today if it wasn't for the dedicated and excellent staff Shame yet again the local media don't really care about this though and only want everyone to hear the bad points - which are far outweighed by the good ones

All I can say, is that regardless of the political claims and claims of the Daily Mail and Express I've never had any problems with the NHS nor has anyone I know (i think).
And when you read about the American health system, it just brings it home.

All I can say, is that regardless of the political claims and claims of the Daily Mail and Express I've never had any problems with the NHS nor has anyone I know (i think). And when you read about the American health system, it just brings it home. You're right! And Mrs Thatcher wanted to adopt the American system. It was the Tories of the time that began all this top-heavy management and paperwork, aimed at "accountability". It was the Tories who wanted the cleaning to "bought in" - so SOME NHS Trusts were natuarlly going to buy in the cheapest and cut corners to save money. It was a Tory paper, who, when they weren't having a go at State Schools, were calling the NHS service of the late 70's "wasteful and greedy". Mrs Thatcher would have privatized hospitals and education- people joked that she's have privatized the air we breathe! Howard is one of those "peepill" who was one of Thatcher's right hand men. Be warned!!! Of course, the Labour Government had the chance to put it right- and they blew it by "modernising" (that is, "Toryizing") the Labour Party. If people value their NHS- be afraid of voting for Michael Howard, be VERY afraid!!
