does that mean a full replay, or Spanish-style finish the match at later date?

It should mean all Italian clubs banned from Europe for a few seasons. Second game in Italy abondoned in the Champs League this season. Expect more of the same tomorrow

Prepare for another FIFA UEFA bottling out over this.
If trying to get the game off by doing this doesn't merit a full ban for a considerable length of time, nothing will.

match now abandoned.
stiff UEFA action to follow, probably in the shape of the normal paltry fine - my guess - £8,450, plus the next 2 Euro games to be played behind closed doors.
any better offers?

Inter fans, to be fair to the ref he the teams of for 15 mins to let them come to their senses, 30 seconds after the restart abour half a dozen flares rained down on the pitch again - straight off abandoned, rightly so, it was very dangerous

Amazing they are allowed in with them in the first place.
Will they stop them tomorrow?

Who have the flares come from - AC or Inter fans? Inter fans, after a goal was disallowed. Ref the players off after a flare hit Dida, came back on, more flares landing on the pitch so game abandoned

Pretty much only Inter fans in there tonight from the 75,000+ Ant
Apparently Shev had scored to make it 3-0 (good job i got that shirt then!!!) and the interfans were well p**sed off
The a goal was dissalowed for inter and a "hail" of insendurys and bottles were thrown at dida - he was hit by a few bottles then wacked in the fact by a flare - shocking pictures
Apparently its going off out side the ground as well know as the AC ultras (we know about them) were banned and being in the same city when they found out what was going on in the stadium they went on the rampage
Amazing to think all this happend 3 days after all the flag waveing and cheering other teams names of Saturday eh ant!!!!

Amazing they are allowed in with them in the first place. Will they stop them tomorrow? There is very little in terms of health and safety issues at football grounds in Italy. Fans watch the game while dangling over the edge of fences or tiers of a stand without an eyelid being battered. It makes for a great atmosphere and spectical, but that's only if nothing goes wrong...

Expect more of the same tomorrow I hope me and you are both wrong, but I think its certain to happen at JUVE tomorrow, espescially if the game is looking dodgy for them in the second half

wasnt there a single flare thrown by a British team in the Premiersh!te this season - might have been Man U?? Unfortunately yes at southampton, I run the away end and i had some fast talking to do as my stewards did not find it, but untill you get 100% search at grounds then things like that will allways get in

This will be a real test of UEFA now, Italian fans at club and national levels have been causing trouble now for years and like the Spanish with their racism, nothing ever gets done. My money's on Johannson or some other UEFA buffoon who knows **** all about football to spout off some words about how serious this is, fine Inter about 50,000 Euros (whoopee do : and have a suspended ban from next European competition i.e. absolutely bottle it If this was an English club, you can guarantee that the book would be thrown at us - that should happen in this case

the Milan fans were behind the other goal. Inter fans must have been well p**sed off... Shevchenko should have been sent off in the first few minutes for a blatant on Materrazzi (although he deserves everything he gets imo) then Cambiasso should have had a pen in the first half. Cambiasso then scored from a corner in the 2nd half in front of the Inter fans but the ref disallowed it - I dont know why although on the tv they said a foul by Cambiasso. Dida came and flapped and he nodded it in on the back post. Cambiasso booked for protests and all hell breaks loose. Dida caught by lit flare on his shoulder - replaced by Abbiatti. Milan off, Inter stay on, ref finally abandons game after 15 mins or so, flares still coming down. Interesting to see how the punishment compares to Mourinho not turning up to the press conference before the match

Just seen the highlights of the game. Absolutely disgraceful!! The ref had an appauling game. How the hell Shevshenko didnt get sent off i dont know. A blatent on a Inter player and to make it worse the linesman was about 10 yrds away from it and done sweet FA about it. As for the crowd trouble. Theres no excuse for it. Ive never seen anything like that before. I just hope theres no incidents during Liverpools game tomorrow!!

had it been an English club they would have thrown all our clubs out

Organisation at Italian football is an absolute joke. Every time I've watched a game out there it's kicked off in a way I've very rarely seen at home.
The police let things get totally out of hand and then steam in battering anyone in their way, which just winds more and more people up. I was told by a friend from Bologna that you have the option of serving in the Caribinieri (sp?) as your military service and your average psychopath takes this option as they get to indulge in a bit of skull cracking of supporters that they don't particularly like.
As for getting flares in the ground, I've seen literally thousands of fans getting into grounds without tickets through either scaling walls or in the case of the San Paulo, just walking in - some of the turnstiles there don't actually have turnstiles - they're just open doorways with one fella collecting tickets a bit half-heartedly.
I went to Napoli v Roma a couple of years ago and had people sitting around me with claw hammers, iron poles etc and the police an absolute battering from ten in the morning until about eight at night with something like fifty police hospitalised and almost forty stabbings. The game was just a continual battle with the police with charges and counter-charges across the Curva. Loudest ground I've ever been to and amazing support, but absolute nutters.

I'm not condoning what happened, but was there any need for Dida to go down cluttching his head as if he'd been shot??? First off I thought the flare hit his shoulder and not his head. I say this because at supper time yesterday harry through something at the candles and as a result one lit candle hit me full whack in the face, about 2 cm away from my left eye. I didnt feel the need to hit the deck and start rolling around as if someone had chopped my leg off. As for the banning, well lets not get stupid, Uefa have shown with the fining of players and banning of managers in comparison to dealing with crowd violence and racism that they are a joke. Frisk gets assaulted reffing an afc roma match, they get one/maybe two games behind closed doors and a small fine, this is what Inter will probably get... football.guardian.co.uk/championsleague200405/story/0,15008,1458483,00.html

Yes what a wimp - he was only substituted and received treatment for first degree burns, according to ITV last night .
