After reading the threads from the people who went to milan and the noise they make over in italy!
Which grounds do you think are the loudest in this country?

St. James' was pretty loud at the engladn game the other week, much louder than Old Trafford in fact.
Can't comment on a lot of premier league grounds as I haven't been to many unfortunately.

I thought Anfield created a cracking atmosphere at the start of the Juve game last week.

Elland Road, Leeds. Standing on the side of the ground at one game I ducked because the noise was so loud.

Old Trafford and Anfield are pretty loud but the highbury library doesn't have a very good atmosphere

I thought Stamford Bridge was good when I went there.
Old Trafford has never impressed me but I've never been there for a 'big' game (that said I've never been to Chelsea for one either).

Not much competition at this levels thanks to most clubs playing in plastic new grounds or re-devloped shells. Probably the Vetch. Nationally I have no clue as TV rarely captures the 'true' matchday experience and whenever town are'nt playing I prefer to spend my time and money watching local non-league teams. They charge less and I hate the premiership St George's Lane (Worcester City) can be pretty vocal on a Tuesday night when there winning.

The sound was so loud and so sudden it was a reflex action to try to get out of the way

Pompey make the most noise in the Premiership and if they ever end up in a ground where the noise is kept in, then it'll be amazing.
Other than that, the atmosphere at the Hawthorns when we played there in a cup qtr-final a few years back was pretty special - non-stop singing from 30 minutes before kick-off up to the final whistle.
Sunderland at Roker was loud, Millwall at the old Den was probably the loudest in London, Man City at Maine Road made a lot of noise, but the Blue Camp's dead quiet. Sheff Utd are usually pretty noisy.
Most disappointing most visits are Highbury (always), OT, St James' and Anfield.

asked my geordie mate this recently and he sed baggies were the best away fans and marseille were far and away the loudest at home.
at our level, burnley matches were loud and they seemed to manage to influence the officials too.
