So they were drawing until 5mins from the end? That is just so unfortunate. Streety's still scoring in the reserves, then! DEFINITELY shouldn't be on the dole, then? ;D

Hugh the trouble to write several pages of notes, so I wont say anything until he has managed to type his report. He was so busy scribbling that he did not see Streets goal A very entertaining game with one or two useful looking trialists for Town.

Just got back from the game and the lads played really well against a stong utd team..
thought the lad Stuart Bridges (who i think is from villa) looked very solid particuarly in the second half playing head to head with liam miller in midfield.. Might be a good one for next seaon..

There were five trialists - Ben Herd (Watford), Stuart Bridges & Kevin Mulchay (Villa), Ben Curtis (Birmingham) and Jay Denny (Stoke) whose already played a game or two for the reserves - all looked very comfortable on the ball. Ben Curtis was playing up front with Adaggio in the first half and the best chances fell to him - one was hit over the bar after a good cross by Street. The second was a header which looked to be going inside the post, but the keeper got across to make the save. The third was a header from 5 yards that was straight at the keeper. Adaggio went off injured at half time after a heavy 50-50 tackle from a United defender. He'd played well, and was getting a lot of vocal support from the reserve coach Nigel Vaughan. Fifteen minutes before the end, Mulcahy (the left back) had alerted the bench that he had an injury and they were waiting to see if he could carry on. United scored shortly afterwards when Bellion ran onto a through ball and slid it under Howie. Mulcahy was then replaced by Henry Goh. Street scored a couple of minutes later while I was texting JP - Dave assures me that it was a shot from 20 yards United second came a couple of minutes before the end - a cross from the left and Richard Jones shot past Howie from 12 yards. All in all a good match to watch - chances for us to score, a good start to both halves by Town, and United's spells where they put together 20-30 passes - just a shame about the result

Just popped on to congratulate you for a fine showing last night at Hyde. I was very impressed with your reserve team, were there many first team players in there? Even though we had a lot more of the ball your lot worked your socks off and tried to play football the right way and it was good to see. Very impressed with Mulchay in the second half, Street, Whitehead & Denny throughout. With the side we put out I must admit I expected us to stroll it but you caused us some problems.

With all the trialists in the team - it makes me feel more confortable that GP is actually planning for the long-term and that there seems like some fine players there...
Makes we worry less about this Chester stuff....
