Why is that GP quote worrying

1) He knows nothing about it 2) He is commited to Shrewsbury

QUOTE ONE: "I don't know anything about it." - Does not say he is not interested in the job, just a diplomatic and rather predictable response to the question posed to him.
QUOTE TWO: "My mind is totally focused on keeping Shrewsbury in the Football League, as it has been since I arrived." - He HAS kept us up. He is talking in the short term. It could be interpreted as saying "I've done what I said I was going to do".
Where does he say he's committed to Shrewsbury long term (i.e. beyond this season)?
There's nothing I'd like more (apart from a threesome with Cheryl Tweedy and Michelle Marsh) than to see GP in charge at the Meadow for the next 10 years.
I just feel that GP's quotes (so far) have done nothing to quash the rumours!

Why would anyone want to go to Chester (bar Lowey)? - We have good support for our current position. When GP has bigged up a game this has increased (showing more potential) - New ground on the horizon.......somewhere And then there's Chester....................... (deathly silence) The Deva was only partly used last year........in a Championship season.

Who know's who are next manager will be, Peters is just one of many names being banded about apparently there has already been 40 letters of application for the job. No disrespect to Mr Peters but he has hardly done alot to warrant an interview, don't forget we have just sacked our Management team because of the bitterly dissapointing season we have had but we are above you currently in League 2. So I think you may be safe in holding on to Peters. Onwards and upwards.

Two reasons he may not stay.
1 He has not received a committment on training facilities for next season.
2 The new ground has not got off the ground yet and dependent on the Council decision at the end of the month it may be still further delayed.
I note that there has been no response from the club to Cllr Armstrong's letter in the Shrewsbury Chronicle a couple of weeks ago

Sounds like Chester are just bandying names about - similar to daft offers for our players. Jan Molby, or some other out of work manager, will probably get the job.
People seem to be questioning what GP has done for us, for some reason JQ in the early part of the season seemed to exclude a number of players who have now been brought back into the fold and done a good job. It appears GP runs a reasonably fair and happy ship GP also seems to do the simple, sensible, things well.
My only concen with GP is what is going on with Sedgmore?

I think the not signing a contract is worrying most people, but I think we have to worry more when he actually signs one.

The type of club that Gary Peters wants to manage: One with passionate supporters who generate vocal support on match days. Top grade practice facilities. A board that will support his objectives. Club attractive to promising young players A club with the potential to do succeed. I can't see him finding all that at Chester. (Can't see why he thinks he can find this at Shrewsbury either. )

I also wish the rumours weren't so strong but it seems Vaughan won't appoint until the season's over with Peters strongly favoured.
I'm no fan of GP but a reliable poster on Deva Chat has confirmed that a deal between Peters and Chester is on the cards.
Like I say, I hope he's wrong.

But he the total backing of our board, lots of mutual respect and has built up a very good relationship with our chairman which makes for happy fans, happy players, happy happy happy!!! Doesn't it just make ya jealous

No, being satisfied while still in danger of relegation doesn't appeal thanks.
With Rush gone and being safe means things can only get better.
As long as Mr Rubber Chops stays with you lot.

Doesn't GP have a lady friend in Manchester? It might be easier for him to commute to Chester than Shrewsbury. Just a thought but sometimes personal factors can be telling. And as has already been mentioned his words so far have hardly been a ringing endorsement for the future. Why doesn't he come out now and say that in addition to keeping us up he has started a project at the Meadow and that he wants to finish it.

Wot the hell has chester as a football club got anything to look forward to? Going in to administation? Wow. Basically chester are safe this season but IMO they will go down next season. As far as the peters question goes, I think he will sign a contract in the summer with us. Cant see him coming here for just half a season and signing a player like langmead on a two and a half deal.

I can tell you for a fact we wont go into admin for a very long time. Vaughan has no plans to do a runner and has possible investors interested in the summer. Considering Lowe has scored 3 times and won 2 games for us, he's been doing well

Even if it is pie in the sky at least something has been done to promote the club. It might come off, it might not but either way it's reassuring that some efforts are being made to attract new investment. We'll be here matey
