Said the sacking of Mark Aizlewood without the managers consent was the last straw.

From what i here Rush was just the pretty face and Aizlewood was the man doing the work and the thinking.

Have to wait and see how this one turns out. If we have a replacement swiftly stepping in then it can be seen as a smart plan by Vaughan to get the right man in before the season's end.
If there is nobody however and we end up with a caretaker manager on saturday then it must be seen as a cock-up with it being this close the end.
Although Ian isn't the man and Vaughan has done right, i would sooner have Ian in charge than a caretaker...espcially as we're this close to safety and the end of a season. I think if there were 20 odd games left then it'd be seen as a shrewd move no matter what happened, but with 5 games - if it goes wrong - it could be seen as an error. We shall see!

There's a respectable school of thought that says had we acted with 8 games to go in 2003 or in 1997, we might have survived each time.

Fred Davies getting us to wembley the year before and Ratcliffe in charge in the Everton win kept them the jobs as far as Im concerned. Ratcliffe should of gone after Boston or Swansea away

Mark Wright to return either next week or in pre-season. Be very surprised if this isn't true

Lenin says Chester should sign Ratcliffe again for the comedy option. That should see them down.

I still think RW's biggest mistake was not sacking Fred at least 6 games before the end of the season. His support for Fred was as blinkered as the OSC's almost hysterical support. Remeber the taunts about "Riverside boo boys"?
