..........total confusion on Gay Meadow proceedings.
Anyone else feel that Uriah Rennie had a pretty poor game today. To me he looked complacent, disinterested and lacking in fitness. He was certainly nowhere near Premiership standard.
Not offering this as an excuse for the result although a draw would have been a fairer reflection. I was looking forward to seeing him in action but left very disappointed in him.

Though he was ok - much better than some crap we have had at home this year.
But he mad one mistake just prior to there goal which he will be remembered for.
Anyone whos going to launch into a moan about him just remeber some of the refs we have had this year (and last year in teh conf) - there not a patch on him - nice to see he kept his cards away for a while as not to let the game kick off.

Odd baffling decision, but generally agree with Pricey.

Perhaps he's being monitored, so thought he had to play the "I'm not a Home ref" game. Unfortunately, he played it a bit too well in my eyes.

Was whistle happy, made mistakes, but they all do.

I'm not saying he was totally useless, he wasn't. It's just that i was expecting more from him, he didn't let the game flow and made three or four very baffling decisions. I also take the point that in comparison to others we have had to endure in recent years he was more than competent.

Totally agree with Jamo.
I had been looking forward to seeing a top ref in action and instead saw a very ordinary one.

thought he was good, seemed to have a good presence on the pitch.
got the o'connor decision wrong but can see why he have it..
i was confused by the wakemans reaction to a number of his decisions on sam and whitehed, from where i was he was spot on giving a number of decisions against town when sam was pulling at his marker but the wakeman were alive with 'what the ..... referee you are a .....', all good stuff..

Totally agree with Jamo. I had been looking forward to seeing a top ref in action and instead saw a very ordinary one. So, by a process of scientific deduction, we take the control subject (Rennie), and compare and contrast to the lower-end sub-cultures we have cultivated in League Two. We can thus come to 2 possible conclusive inferences: 1) Our usual refs are par excellence; OR 2) All refs are s**t. Shall we take a vote? ;D

I did not think he was that bad, let a lot go that others would have had the cards out for.

Ask the boss why they do it. Why have 4000+ people there just to go "Quite right Ref, book our lad, he deserves it!", when there's always that slight possibility that they can sway his judgement to appease the Masses.

We can't blame Rennie for the result - he was probably the best ref we've had at the Meadow this season, as he should be. Still not a patch on when we had Neale Barry a few years back, can't remember the game, but he was class. I think every other ref we've had would have booked Ashton for the 2 footed challenge (a mate says their lad went in 2 footed as well so it was 50/50 - couldn't tell, big iron girder obscured their player : . Thought the decision against MOC was harsh but we should have still dealt with what was a fairly inocuous ball into the box, we didn't, they got a lucky break and game over.

I thought UR was average , he's put on a bit of weight and looks happy reffing outside the prem, he got near enough everything spot on except for the o'conner tackle where he won the ball fairly, the booking for M'field was right, however the free kick that led to the M'field goal was wrong and i hope we see that in the TV coverage when the goals are shown.

Similar to us, though he had a decent first 60 then got lots and lots wrong from the MOC onwards. He actually gave a throw in injury time then watched as Whitehead a free-kick.

Thought he was poorer than Danson the other week. Little consistency and overuled his "assistants" when they were much better placed. MOC "foul" was ludicrous. Sensible over Ashton jumping in and at least got the card out for deliberate handball - at the second attempt.
Nothing special although I expect his ego remains undiminished.
"Premier League - you're having a laugh!"

I actually thought he had a very good game up until the MOC incident. All decisions over cards etc are on the refs own judgement and everything he gave seemed logical and fair to me Much better and more consistent than any other ref i can remember this season.

FOr the Ashton tackle, it was clear the other guy had gone in with two feet from where I was sitting.
The fact that the Riverside wasn't going nuts about it suggested to me that Ashton had done similar which is the way I guess it was.
