He was a defender............
He says he is a defensive coach, hence Wadsworth....
Is he a defensive Manager??......
Not saying that is a fault, just wondering what people feel.

Have no idea in honesty, but my grandad ( bless im) always use to say the best form of defence is attack. If the opposition are kept busy in their own half, we shouldnt have much trouble in ours

Build from the back.......makes sense to me.
Cautious yes , but not defensive as a priority. As a player he was in Reading teams that had a reputation for creating "fortress Elm Park" but also scored goals too.
He will play to the strengths of the players that are available, mainly defenders at present if people are honest. He won't like the ball given away needlessly.
With Smith and Rodgers possibly both available together for the first time for him, the balance may change.

Town had a game plan today something were not used to watching , but it was succesfull until the lucky deflected goal, if we went for an all out attack M'field would have murdered us end of, if LR or DD had been fit then today would have seen us put out a different formation and maybe a different outcome.

We missed Luke today big style.
His pace would have worried those skyscraper defenders.
Lets give Macc some credit also. They came with a plan and it worked. In Brian Horton they have a been there done that type of a manager.

I think that's so right. I wasn't there, so I can only go on Radio Shropshire and G.P's remarks. But remember, the season we went down we were defensively terrible. If these people who said we should have "taken the game to them" had their way, and it had all gone wrong and Maccy had thrashed us 4-1 or something, what then? Surely it is a matter of playing safe, given that G.P. has limited choices at the moment. If things go seriously pear-shaped- goal difference will matter. To be honest- if we stay up this season, anything else is a bonus. Next season G.P. will build a more effective team. Who else could have come in, and had faith in players that Quinn had written off, and even some supporters had dismissed as "just Conference players." He gave them back some self- belief, made the best of them, said our players were as good as anyone's in this league. It's paid off. No, of course we're not wonderful- but we're not rubbish because of one set back. Look at the thrashings some other teams have taken! I think this is possibly the strongest side we have to play now, am I right? I admit I'm not Mrs Knowledgeable when it comes to the finer tactical points. But what G.P did today- it seems like common sense in the circumstances. But I know YOU'RE not moaning, Shrewforever- it's just an observation you made.
