He is sounding more and more like all they have left is "hoping for the best" The fact is no facilities can give a club spirit, hope, a sense of destiny and belonging It will also be a big challenge for their Supporter's Trust. In a snese they are the opposite of Exeter, they have facilities and no debt but they just do not have the fans If that is all the chairman can say, that they are hoping for the best this season, then they really do have a lot to fear, as both Kiddy and Cambridge seem to know they need to be up for a fight news.bbc.co.uk/sport1/hi/football/teams/r/rushden_and_diamonds/4337737.stm

They are by no means the worst supported club in the division are they? I doubt Exeter are getting too many more...although I guess Exeter do have a better average attendance. Relegation would be a kick in the pips no mistake but when you consider the clubs recent history would it really be a disaster for them? I think not...although I guess one or two R&D fans might not feel the same...
