It's plain wrong. Makes a mockery of the whole idea of a "champions" league.

why wouldn't liverpool automatically qualify as winners?
why would they have to be 'put forward' by the FA?

I got the feeling that the FA can put liverpool forward as the 4th team if the lose in the final and come 5-6th I herd someone saying that on the radio a few days ago - i dont think A many people know the Fa can do this And B the FA would ever dare?

why wouldn't liverpool automatically qualify as winners? why would they have to be 'put forward' by the FA? Think it was a change in rules a few years back.... Applies to the European Championships too. Its wrong, but think they should take their place in it instead of Everton if they do win it.

If Liverpool were to iwn, and its a big if, It'd be hillarious watch the FA squrim.
I suspect they'd find a loop hole somewhere and just pinch maltas champions league place instead...

And also remember no winner are guaranteed entry to comps they won previous in world footy no more! Look at the world cup, Brazil are having to qualify this time around even though they won it in korea/japan!

why wouldn't liverpool automatically qualify as winners? why would they have to be 'put forward' by the FA? winners don't automatically qualify. bizarre but true. I guess it's because most european leagues are monopolised by just a few clubs, so the idea that they might not qualify automatically didn't come up.

what does CHAMPIONS mean ?
its ruined the uefa cup wiped out the cup winners cup killed the league cup the facup is going the same way the premier is turning into the scottish prem with only a few teams capable of winning
it making the rich richer, and the poor go out of business

I guess it's because most european leagues are monopolised by just a few clubs, so the idea that they might not qualify automatically didn't come up. Plus of course, the "champs" could sell the best players, put in a tinpot team the next year, and rake in the group round cash, thus mocking the whole system.

All other European & domestic Cups have been affected by the brand which is now the 'Champions £eague'. Its not about winning the league anymore, or UEFA places, its about finishing in the top 4 for the Champions £eague.
