trying to find a parking space in Ludlow today, I swept round a bend only to find the Air Ambulance sitting there right in front of me.
Eventually parked, looked to my left and saw a lady who was 80 if she was a day parking up her bright red Subaru Impreza Sport. She wasn't quite satisfied that she'd parked it straight in the bay and so her friend (the same age) got out and went to the back of the vehicle to assist grannie. Can't think why there was nothing behind the car and she could have reversed out quite safely.
At this point the Air Ambulance was almost called upon. The driver, no doubt having a bit of arthritis in her ankle, let the clutch up a bit sharpish and the car leapt backwards. Her companion probably showed the quickest feet I have seen with the exception of Luke Rodgers.
I thought about parking in a different car park.
Finally can anyone help me with the meaning of the word "kite". Not the noun but the verb. If I am kiting something, what am I doing to it?

Kiting, Misrepresenting the value of a financial instrument for the purpose of extending credit obligations or increasing financial leverage. A fraudulent act involving the alteration or issuance of a check or draft with insufficient funds. Sounds like some Football clubs we know I think you knew the answer all along Sean

Actually HHS I didn't. But it is uncomfortably close to home sometimes.
I read it in a book about the Mafia.

Had a close encounter with an Air Ambulance Monday!
One of the lads at school had his legs taken from him when going for a cross and landed on his back on the tarmac - unfortunately in front of me.
The downdraft from it landing on the playground next to us was incredible and resulted in a gravel spattering for all. Quite painful it was too.....and not helped by the paramedic in attendance who said "Oh I forgot about that!"
